Maybe its just me but...

For every person that posts something totally irrelevant to our car, we seem to shut them down the wrong way. Lets educate people instead of just flaming them. (Regardless of what their intentions may be.)

For every thread that exists with this kinda garbage, just makes us like any other forum a cesspool of crap. It's been a while since I have actively posted on club4ag, as I don't have my 86 anymore, but that forum is truly a great group of people, and believe this should be the same.

Just something I have observed over time. Let people not like our car, that is one more car for someone who really wants one.

I have my cars that have their own small group of owners (75,77 celica, 86,91 MR2) and soon another 86, when we buy our home... but I don't hate or trash on people who make fun of those cars, I educate them, and ya know, if they want to make fun still, then so be it. At that point its just a waste of breath.

Anyone else agree with me? Let's clean up the forums!

I tried to with that last personal "review"

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=13

This goes more for the newer members really. Not to bash someone else when they say negative things about the car. This car is not for everyone.

I think this forum is a great group of people. However there is a difference between a valid opinion and slander/idiocy. Not that I'm one to make those kind of calls, but sometimes people clearly come on these forums to bash/troll. I dont mind if people dont like the car, and there are plenty of others that dont either. Just dont waste our time with why go with this when you can have this and this is so much better than that blah blah blah.

since human exist, passion have rise alot of emotion. so, yes we can try to not bash and flame, but, this forum is no way different from other forum.

different poeple, different age, different culture, mix with passion and voila! you have a forum.

like exhaust said, i believe we have on this forum really really great member, but this is a forum, in real life people tent to be more kind.

Only post something constructive. If destructive, refrain from posting. And if a troll trolls simply don't feed the troll.

Also, TOP DOWN TOP DOWN SUMMA CAR!!

Totally agree on the bolded portion. I love a healthy debate, but if the other party is acting childish and calling people names and what-not, that's not cool. There's no reason that we can't have conversations and even debates as adults.

Here's another vote for healthy discussions and welcoming new folks to the forum. Sharing information is best. Let's make this a fun dynamic community where all sorts of owners come together to enjoy FT86 motoring. :happy0180:

It would be nice if people would stop coming by the forums just to troll us, but we are definitely just feeding the trolls a bit. If someone criticizes the car in a constructive manner, open a friendly discourse. However, if someone is outwardly just hating on the car or trolling us into defending the car, then the best response would be to ignore that thread.

Examples? I'm maybe so used to it from other forums that I just don't notice or I just don't read those threads. I've seen it a few times (mostly because of reports) though.

As always, report posts like that so they can be handled.

The Vs section does a good job of containing a lot of the people that just want to criticize. Sure things can get flame-y but it's pretty much voluntary on both sides, and it's away from new people in General.

Examples?

Some people paint with a broad brush, some don't, some are fanbois, some are trolls, some are literate, some are txt speakers, and hopefully the majority are cool.

The sentiment of your post is great. But it strikes me more as a general forum lament you could post on any and all forums and it would be accurate to some degree, then something that is strikingly more pertinent to ft86club.
