Do you suggest being from eastern Europe, as I am - makes my chances higher?

My wife loves the car and we share it, And as far as joint accounts we share that too, my opinion is we couples have there own account it seems to me like roommates rather then a marriage, but if it works for you that's great.
I don't have a certain amount to spend and neither does she but we do stay on a budget so we can take vacation and buy the things we want.

Ill second this , the way I see it is very simple. I turned 18 once, im not asking permission for anything anymore period!

I know couples who have made the switch to separate accounts. It is a good feeling to be in a marriage and be able to buy your wife dinner, dates, or presents out of YOUR hard earned money.

Well to each there own, I don't have to ask permission to buy something and neither does she, we just make sure we are on the same page and don't overdraft. But I see your point and would be nice to be able to take your wife on a nice dinner date and buy her gifts with your own money.
But if i did that your way I don't think I be able to take her to White Castle lol
