A better question is, what is the "best" catless header to test? Any?

I would love to test all the possible configurations, but some are simply inaccessible to me and I'm not about to drop $10k on a bunch of pipes when I don't even work for Fujitsubo.

I'm guessing the Tomei UEL may be best to start, since it's fairly common and there's the white-box version that is popular.

Gruppe-S is pretty popular. Manufactured in same factory as the Tomei UEL but a lot cheaper. Im curious how this FP would sound paired with a corsa + Gruppe-S as I heard corsa exhausts turn insanely loud mixed with a header.

I'm willing to bet not much will change, given that there's not a whole lot of a decrease between this FP and stock. Though, drone and rasp may be reduced

Guess I can slap the Tomei 60R back on for the loudness factor?....

What is the main difference between this and the HKS offering?

I have no idea. I just want to do sound clips of something new on the market.

No technical details about composite of the resonator, size etc? I'm just wondering what actually makes it worth more than the other offering that looks identical. I'm looking more for the technical aspect, do you happen to have any of those details?

Details are sparse, aside from that it's not a whole lot quieter than the stock front pipe, and I haven't looked around too hard for comparisons vs the HKS offering.

From what I can tell, you're probably only buying this for the name on it.

I guess I'm not totally up on Japanese parts, but I know I have heard of and used HKS before and never heard of fujitsobo..... I have the HKS front pipe on amazon and have almost bought it like 3 times now, lol. Which one has a bigger inside diameter?

Fujitsubo has been around ~4x as long as HKS.

http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/home/history

As for inside diameter of resonator, it's the same as the piping, 60.5mm. Most resonators have the same inner diameter, it's the size and the packing material that "tunes" the exhaust note.

What exact technical details are you after?

You can see an overview of what they have here:
http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/home/technology

Fujitsubo is one of those high-quality companies that has never attempted to export out of Japan to North America, at least not by themselves.

I was mainly looking for an interior diameter, or length / size of resonators. Pretty much exactly the questions you quoted. Also maybe some explanation of why this product is "better" or what makes it "different."

Fujitsubo is more of a specialty high end brand. They specialize in exhaust components and stride towards improving weight, sound and performance while retaining the OEM characteristics and being approved by Jasma. (Jasma is a thing they have in Japan that meets noise requirement laws)

They also do everything in house. Design, acoustic engineering, testing and manufacture the exhaust components all in there facility in Japan.

A lot of people don't care about this though and just want the cheapest part possible. This is why the industry is filled with replica's, chinese made goods with low quality standards and products that have bad fitment, drone, rust, break etc...

HKS is a great brand though, the bad fitment, drone, rust, break etc...is not about them haha.

I personally cannot tell you which is better, but I am Fujisubo user. I have the Legalis R cat-back on my Subaru and I have the Authorize R cat-back on this car and everything is spot on perfect! I'm also picking up this Front Pipe in the summer and will make some videos with it and the Authorize R combined if Alex doesn't.

There are many brands out of Japan that outsource components of their products. Final assembly may be in their factory but the individual parts are made overseas elsewhere.

Fujitsubo is not one of them... that's all that I can say.

As for what makes it better? Better welds, QA process, and all the extras. Most people view exhausts as a bunch of metal tubes (see discussions on cheap headers vs quality headers), some view it as art pieces.
