Best bang for my buck?

Hello fellow 86rs.
The time has finally come to the point where I no longer have free oil changes. I was curious with which brand of oil you guys use, whats the best bang for my buck. When my car hit 1000 miles I changed the oil using mobile one, in my opinion it was a bit pricey (50 dollars for 7 quarts). I don't mind paying for a good product, just want to know what else is out there.

7 dollars a quart isn't expensive. don't be cheap. its synthetic. bang for the buck, shop at walmart, they buy in volume so they have good prices.

+1 for Walmart. You can also get Royal Purple there for a bit more. The just go to your dealer and pick up a filter and crush washer for under $10.

Also, get a Fomoto valve, it will save you time.

Was talking about an oil drain pan. not the oil pan on the car. the pan where you drain the oil into. I'm looking for one that can hold it and i can bring it easily to recycle.

I got a 2.5 gallon jug from jegs. Fits perfectly in the trunk and don't have to worry about awkward holding/carrying.

Go to www.bobistheoilguy.com for more information than you'll know what to do with

Oil does not add performance per se. Any 0W-20 oil will be fine for most cars for 5-7K miles oil change intervals because all 0W-20 oils are synthetic. Mobil 1 from Walmart is fine is probably what I will use when I run out of free changes.

IIRC there is a thread on BITOG re 0W-20 oils and they say the Toyota oil is the best but only marginally so, so only worth it if you can get it for $5 a quart.

Thanks for the info. BTW when I said performance, I was talking about the oil, not power gains .
