Ive honestly wondered about this. The suspension doesnt matter as it will probably be changed but I dont like the BRZ hairlip at all and was wondering what an FR-S bumper would cost. Maby people will start trading soon.

So what does this mean? My car just uses cables and levers so please forgive me that I need it spelled out. This is saying that the dcc unit will work in an FRS?

We are actually working with a another member here of figuring this out. Although the AUTO parts are available separate from the HVAC box. I would have to say the entire box needs to be replaced as there may be other differences in them. A complete list of parts needed will be posted once we figure this out.

Thanks, Benny

About 5 K difference here for the BRZ Sport-Tech and the FR-S.

30K vs 35K OTD.

I'd say it be worth it,

+ leather with inserts
+ nav
+ start/stopbutton
+ hid
+ spoiler

lol i am in long island ny.. but i cant see spending $750 to swap out the lights... i opted to just upgrade my fr-s lights with a ddmtuning.com hid kit (5k) and it looks awesome.

just for giggles i tried out a backup 3k hid bulb set (yellow in color) but with the prism projector it made it look orangey/very washed out

We are still looking for a Local FRS owner looking to perform the swap in exchange for the parts at dealer cost.

We are located in Hicksville,NY

This is in regards to the headlight swap

Thanks, Benny

The parts involved in converting to Automatic Climate Control are probably far more invasive than just swapping the control panel.

I'm sure the housing for the BRZ's headlights will fit, but do you have to/is it possible to swap over the manual headlight adjustment as well?

Better off buying a BRZ and swapping the bumper.

Any updates on this?

(and yes BRZ->FRS would be cheaper but my circumstances rule out the possibility of the BRZ unfortunately)

I am also interested in swaping the headlights on my FR-S with the BRZ. Can anyone list the complete kit of parts required?

Housing
lamps
Ballast
Wiring?
switches?

Also, to the people who keep letting us know that it would be cheeper to just buy a BRZ, please tell me where I can buy one within 500 miles of me without a $3k mark-up and I will be happy to go buy one!

Bottom line, the BRZ is hard to get!!

  • Will the lamp physically fit with no modifications and look and perform correctly
  • Will the FR-S plug fit the BRZ headlamp jumper harness
  • If an aftermarket HID kit is used is the BRZ jumper harness required?
  • How will the turn signals be effected, Are the FR-s indicators in the headlamp like the BRZ if not will FR-S owners be happy leaving these inop?

Below is the parts diagram for the BRZ , Lets open up this discussion to hammer out the details.

Have you gttn an answers to these questions yet?

We are still in need of a local FR-S to perform the swap on. If you want the headlamp leveling feature to work the FR-S needs to be checked if the wiring is there for the switch to plug into . At the very least the switch would be needed in addition to the lamps.
