Not sure if it would make a difference but I run 31-33 hot with the re71r at -4.1f/-2.5r. Im on 265/35/18, wear is perfectly limited to the triangles

Not sure if tony was on 17" wheels tho so sidewall would be larger?

I know pyrometer, which I lack, is preferred to checking tire temperature, but should I even bother with those laser gun?

First time out on the track this year, but now with a set of 245/40/17 RS4's and stoptech street pads. Managed to get a 1:24.5.
The RS4's seem to stick better than my old RS3's around corners.

It works good enough for me. It at least shows me the difference in temperature across the tire profile.

Remember, the basic key is look for massive differences between the outside and inside temperatures. A pyrometer will get you more accurate readings but the actual absolute number isn't as useful as the delta between the outside and inside profile.

Make sure you hold the laser at the same angle and distance from the tire for the outside and middles to ensure you get as accurate of a reading as possible.

1:27.1

Stock everything except for
-Nameless track pipe
-Gutted rear interior
-17x8.5 wheels wrapped with Federal RS-R 235/40/17

I can definitely improve my time if I were more ballsy on turn 1 and the last turn into the wall

Finished the season with a 1:25:7. 1:25:5 was possible.

I need to clean up my braking I'm creating too much understeer.

Setup in the description.

My $0.02?

There's likely WAY more time to be had in the infield than the final turn. When you start getting ahead of yourself and only focus on the the last and first turn as places to gain time, you will meet the wall or the field.

Stay safe.
