Greddy VS. HKS intake duct
Wondering if anyone here has either of these installed. Trying to decide on one or the other but I see what I THINK could be pros/cons...
I like the fact that the Greddy is pulling from a cooler spot but worried about rain and also how much travel it has back to the filter. I like that the HKS is more DIRECT/shorter travel but I feel as if it could be more prone to heat soak because of where it sits.... Hoping the more performance aware members could shed some insight and help me out here HKS http://www.brz-parts.com/70999-at001.html Greddy http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/-p-150916787.html

Hi! Look at my issue: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91009 sofar HKS duct + dropin filter seem to be the reason of bouncing revs. I didnot fix it yet, but to my understanding it supposed to be fixed by placing either stock filter or some other duct/snorkel. Be aware. |

So as far as i understood, my problem is not caused by snorkel/duct, i even visited official dealer yesterday - and my throttle looks closed at the time of bouncing revs, what should generally avoid possible overflowing as the reason of bouncing. And my bounce started not right after i installed the duct, so my conclusion that this is not duct's issue. But i still didnot find the real reason yet.

Don't bother. This mod is dyno proven to only give about 1-2 Hp if you are lucky.

I had the HKS, I think I sensed a small improvement in throttle response, but maybe it was a placebo effect .
Greddy: by the looks of it, you'll have to either cut or remove the foam that goes between the front bumper beam and the bumper. |

I'd save your money on something else, yes more air probably flows in, but minimal gains anyway as your car will only take in so much more air

why nobody refers to the good efficiency of reducing the intake temp by using Greddy direct air intake?
It wont pump much of power for sure, but it will significantly drop the intake temp by its design. And thus give you a more consistent performance when u r trying to hit the hotlap time. |

That direct air snorkel is not meant for DD users, it's only for track-day driving or on a race car.
In other words, if you won't pursuing for the last tenth of a second on the lap time, this type of snorkel won't give you benefits for using on the open road. |
