Also the field rep didn't care the car had been autoXed. He said "lowered changes the axel geometry."

What does the static angle of your axles look like? I wouldn't be surprised if they are straighter than stock ride height. Who knows after weight transfer from a launch though. Bummer.

Hoping you get it in time.

How time consuming is an axle swap I wonder? Also, how much before the overnight charge, if you dont mind me asking?

What axle was it?

Inner joint?

Mine was supposed to be here today, but Subaru didn't get it. Probably Friday.

Should be pretty straight forward, especially because the car is new, no bolts should be rusted or seized up on him.

That opens up a even bigger can of worms if that is their stance. Everyone that is on lowering springs or coilovers will have a voided warranty on the axles and cv joints. We just bought RCE springs for my son's new FR-S.

The service manager has pictures for me when I pick up the car Friday. I'll post them up. I bought the axle through Toyota because they could get it faster than Subi even though it was $30 more. Pretty sure it was inner join on passenger side.

I don't live in the snow belt either so car has never seen salt. That stuff you DON'T put in your sig BUT put at the end of your messages is really annoying when trying to quote you. Just make a damn signature!

Agreed. Pretty much saying we don't care how you use it, just don't modify it? It could also vary from field rep to field rep. Just like I'm sure you've all dealt with helpful insurance adjusters and ass hole ones.

That's BS! On the bright side, at least they didn't care about autoxing the car

It probably has nothing to do with the angle of the axle. When the car is lowered it will compress the axle which can put additional stress of the CV joint cage that may lead to a failure. The launches and hard cornering will cause the problem to manifest itself much sooner than on a street car but lowered street cars that are driven enthusiastically may experience these failure too.

Note the picture that carlitosway6891 posted today of the same problem:

I'm sure if it was at totally stock they would have said they denied the claim because you had raced it.

Hadn't really thought of that. There's always some play though in the joints that will allow for that, maybe they need to be a couple mm shorter?
