Ecutek Question

Yo So I get free oil changes w my new 86. Wondering if I can flash back to the stock tune with ecutek just like oft. I heard that techs can overwrite your ecu and you lose your license. Sorry if I sound retarded lmao, new to tuning. They'll forsure notice my headers etc. But I dont think they'll void "free" oil changes for that.

I mean, free oil changes aren't the greatest thing, I would think free oil is. But letting them change it...

They wont think twice about anything beyond doing a simple oil change if that is what you are going in for.

Garage
If it is a dealer and they check the car in, a service check will be preformed and if an update is required or suggested they WILL plug it in and do it. Everything is now done by the VIN. You can ask them not to but the chance is that the request will not be passed on to the service area.

I had the free oil changes as well and they were bugging me to come back. I opted out and decided to do them on my own. Any small mod like an intake tube or something could give them reason to deny warranty ect. I just don't trust them

well you can keep the ecutek tune and they wont flash because it will be locked
or
you can put the stock tune, they can flash (even if 99% they won t have an available upgrade on the techstream/SSMiii and won t do it) and what you can do if you got your ecu overwritten is
talk to ecutek support and send them the proecu-log.txt over
they will see you had a license, and they will see it s gone then, you explain them you had a dealer reflashing your ecu without saying, they will very probably give you new 225 flash points... maybe talk to them about this in advance to see what they say

Why would the dealer care what you have, or even plug into your car?

You're there to get your free oil change, they're doing it to get paid by Toyota.

The dealer really doesn't care what you've done to your car, unless it's something that can potentially damage their equipment, or they can't service your car without extra hassle.

Id just leave the tune in car unless you have some warantee type issue with engine. They dont routinly check for tunes and they can see header anyway.

Generwlly they just run diagnostics which work fine with ecutek or other tunes. There is no scheduled engine ecu updates for cars after about 2013 AFAIK

As flashing back to stock with ecutek still leaves licience in ecu and if they check CVN it wont be stock to it's pointless, and you also still have header.

You would need to return header to stock flash stock tune with ecutek using the blow away your licience option to avoid possible detection amd thats not rearly practical each oil change.

Ecutek dont usually replace liciences unless you have documents from dealer showing a reflash or replacement of ecu or you had some issue flashing with ecutek they can see.
