So from a program titled: Everyday Driver, I wasn't expecting them to chose a car that is actually a rather poor "everyday driver".

I guess I'm being pedantic.
And more comfortable, and better torque for city driving

I really hope a BRZ STi comes out with 240-250hp NA (with no added lbs on the already hefty weight). I'd give up my car for that!

Maybe in 2016 subaru and/or Scion will release the more horsepower version of the brz/frs. Maybe more chancea for Scion to do so as Subaru has to protect and not cannibalize their WRX's.

Maybe a decent review but I think the s2k and FRS are too different to actually compare unless someone is looking at them for a track only car. BRZ is my DD and only car, no way I would have a 2 seater convertible for that role... Then if want to track you need a cage?

i assure you that there is a significant amount of people who would disagree with that entirely. i think that these three car represent a very small segment in the industry that put the driving experience before anything else

If I had had the ability to get two cars, it would have been the S2000 and something more practical. With space for only one, there's just no way to get the S2000 and not annoy your friends every time you need something the slightest bit practical. Now I only annoy them every once in a while when it's something big.

i really respect this review. very good information. but they are comparing 2 cars that have gone through years of refinement, to a car that is brand freakin new (quite literally as it was one of the first 86 made) not really fair until all of them have been through the motions and refined appropriately.

Did you watch the whole video? They made it a point to bring up that fact...the FR-S is just at V1.0...while the others have had years of refinements...

My takeaway: The FR-S is STILL 2nd to the Elise for best steering feel.

Probably that point resonated with him after watching and he was subconsciously reiterating.

The steering feedback is good in the FR-S. But don't like the incredibly soft/light steering resistance. It feels overboosted like aWRX STi. Does it get better with wider front tires?

It does. I went up only 10mm (to 225) and noticed it takes a bit more effort to turn compared to my dad's stock BRZ. I'm also lowered on STI springs (I read lowering affects turning radius and might affect steering effort).

The insurance on a s2k + base price new outshines the FRS in spending. Most people buy the FRS because of its 25k price tag and gas mileage. It's a econo sports car. The S2K is a off the lot toy. Two different cars.... I love s2k's though... Wouldn't mind one for a track queen.

If it was shot on a rainy day or in winter the FR-S would have won.

i feel like the flip side of the coin is that those cars its compared with are like a decade older and have significant miles on them. so maybe a wash on that aspect at best.
