Motul 5w-40 Oil for turbo engine

Hi all,

Ive done a ton of searching about this but no one really gives an answer with a explanation

I have just taken my car to get a service and a few bits and pieces installed

They have put Motul 5w-40 oil into my engine , has anyone run this ?

Thanks in advance

Seems like a good decision to me. I run Rotella T6 10w-40. Turbo oil temps get hot So 40 will survive a little longer and keep viscosity better.

You'll be fine, 30 to 40 weight oil is recommended for forced induction setup. It also helps with loss in oil pressure.

Think you mean Shell Rotella T5 if you're running their "10w" 40.

That temp is fine for a 20 or 30 wt oil.

I tun 5w40 T6 in my built motor Forester XT.

Fantastic oil for turbocharged engines, and 5w40 is a great weight. Motul is also world class so I would be very happy with that change personally. A bit more expensive if you do frequent changes.
