One of those new fancy BRZs with Brembos was parked next to me at the Giant in Cascades.

It's dark metallic grey.

Metallic Grey BRZ with Red logos.
Both pulled out of the Mason parking lot and trailed each other down Braddock.

Hate to hijack this thread, but since this car is modded, wondering if anyone knows this car? I'm interested, but find it odd that it wasn't parted out before trading it in to that dealership. I'm in the area and am possibly looking to get a used frs. Thanks.

Id hold out for a stock one before buying one that was knowingly owned by someone who thought that was cool

Why? It's literally just exhaust pipes, pretty much 0 harm done to the car. That look is pretty popular in Japan, so I can see where the previous owner was going with that.

I wouldn't be embarrassed buying a car with pipes like that, even if they're on there for just a few days until I install a stock exhaust.

What's not "cool" is that you'll spend more time on the phone with your Alfa repairman while your car is in the shop vs actually driving your car. That's not cool, bro.

My FRS is on its second engine because of a relatively common manufacturing issue. It rattles and makes awful noises. Sometimes the clutch rattles in neutral. It has been at the dealer for over two months total in the 16 months I've owned it.

The Alfa is quiet and reliable, using a powertrain thats been around for years in the Giulietta.

I would stay away from the car because changing mods that you dont want costs more than just buying a stock car that you dont have to do anything with. There's just a higher risk of abuse with modded cars in general. Not a sure thing, but there are so many other 86s you can buy.

But hey, let's all just be snarky smartasses.

I was looking at that car for a while before I got mines. It's nothing crazy, it just has exhaust, crap wheels and BC Racing Coilovers. I can't remember but when I was inquiring about this car, the dude said they got it on a trade in for a 350z, because that would make complete sense.

Unrelated but did the dealer do anything about the clutch rattle? Mine does it but I just live with it...
