Couple of old(er) ones that are two of my very favorites but may not translate to well for a younger audience are Tommy (Not fukin'Tommy BOY) and Jesus Christ Superstar. The social statements at the time were excellent but really do not apply anymore.

Top 5 Robin Williams movie for sure. Gene Hackman and Nathan Lane are great too.

And Hank Azaria outdoes Williams in his 5 minutes of screen time.

A new film I recently watched is Sicario.
While plausibility had to be suspended I thought the feel of the movie was gritty.
I would recommend it to people who would enjoy watching it. Don't watch if you're not going to like it.

Ah, here's another one. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. There are no petrol vapor explosions, no jumping from helicopters without parachutes. 3.6x10^18 rounds of ammunition are not fired. There are no laser beams, missile firing cars or even one single RPG-7. It is actually plausible given the time in which it is set. This movie is slow, one needs a flow chart to keep track of the plot. In other words it is the complete antithesis of a Hollywood spy movie. It is a film about relationships; you spend a lot of time watching people talking to one another. I thought it a good adaptation of the book although if they had made a direct copy of the book it would have gone for about 20 hours. I do hope they bring out the two sequels.
