Anyone else hit a bump and the trunk popped open?

Was driving just a few minutes ago (testing something else not related) and I hit a bump and the door open signal went on.

Now, I'm pretty sure I'm not resting on the trunk button, the key is in the slot, and the trunk was 100% shut when it was opened 2 days ago.

This used to happen to me a lot, when cornering hard. I found out it was my backpack sliding around and hitting the emergency trunk release. Make sure your trunk release is in its fully seated position, clean out your trunk or rearrange so items aren't quite as likely to bump it and you should be fine.

This happens to me whenever something is in the trunk. It's aggravated by the fact that the emergency release doesn't stay clipped into its holder.

I need to get a cargo organizer or rubber mat to stop it. Or glue that darn pull tab in place.

By trunk release, you mean the glow-in-the-dark pull tab?

I have a small toolbox in there, I doubt it "latched" into it by accident..

Learned something new and useful today. Stored for future retrieval. (I hope; I'm old, I tell you!)

Thank you.

The glow in the dark emergency release handle can be made more secure if you apply a little dab of silicone to hold it in place.
