I have to give props to Ekanoos is swaping a 2J in this car easier than building the FA20? Absolutely, but a big power clean swap has challenges of its own. I know people are bashing it because its a swap car, but it is literally impossible to make 1k+ on the fa with the parts that are available now. The drivetrain has an insane amount of weak points and the cylinder heads can not support big power even with porting and os valves. If I didn't have access to tons of machining equipment my car would have an lsx or 2j right now.

My cams, springs, retainers and valves are custom. Open pressure plays an important role in big boost applications and no OTS springs have adequate pressure.

I think this question has already been answered but I could never find the answer to it. But... How much different would the handeling be and the height difference between the FA20 and a 2jz swap. Doesnt sound like there would be a difference at all but there have not been track tests between the two to my knowledge....

Physics theories mainly but it's all logical that it'll affect the handling. People who are doing the 2JZ swap are doing it for reasons other than road racing.

2JZ = drag/drift
FA20 = road racing, drag-ish

sexy, dunno about you guys. But, I thought of buying a fully built supra (reliable) VS a stock BRZ. It was around the same price. Now, you has both ^^

So is it safe to say that Handling isnt a big factor in drifting? I mean youre just sliding around through turns. But then again I dont know too much on physic theories about different applications of cars.

What I am curious about though, is how a (milder) 2JZ would affect weight, weight distribution, and center of gravity.

I'm also curious about the cost difference between swapping to a 2JZ vs a fully built and turbocharged FA20 (not counting the cost of similar required upgrades like transmission and rear axle).

Ultimately, if it costs less to swap to a 2JZ vs a fully built FA20, and it doesn't significantly affect the cars ability to carry speed through turns/etc, then a 2JZ swap could be a very tempting option for people like me.
2jz swap will cast you less 1000% and it's inclouding transmission and all 700WHP stuff

Dunno how I missed this thread...

Stock short block is 100% stupid at those power levels. Sure it'll handle it....for a little while. Apparently they like building grenades... (or it's tuned on the fly constantly and it's on race gas 24/7)

2J is going to radically effect the CG of the car, not hard to counter with proper suspension tweaking though (in essence it's not going to be much worse than a Supra, and they handle just fine)

Also, I must laugh...HARD... at thinking it would take $30K to make a milder version of this. Would be far cheaper than that if you know what you're doing.
