Right, it's the stock pulley. Mechanic warned, if I want to go to a smaller pulley, then for best reliability, definately should build up the motor. Mainly the rods and pistons and a few other things.

BTW, if anyone is going to the Edelbrock Car Show this Saturday May 14th, I'll be there showing the car. Admission is free. Should be loads of fun!

Cheers,

J

@CSG Mike

Can you please update the first post and remove the Mishimoto oil cooler as a confirmed fitment with this kit? I ordered the kit based on this info only to find out it doesn't fit and don't see the need for others to go through this as well.

What oil cooler kits are people using with the Edelbrock kit? I was going FA20DIT route but keep reading it's not sufficient even for occasional track duty.

The following oil cooling setups are being done or have been done:

1. DIY lines and brackets for a large Setrab core. There is an awesome writeup for one.

2. Perrin Oil Cooler. with some possible relocation, but the core is fairly small.

3. Jackson Racing Dual Radiator/Oil Cooler.

Unfortunately, nothing that is a "direct bolt-on" solution for our kit. Everything mentioned previously had to be modified one way or another, apart from the JR radiator, which no one has posted on fitment yet. Depending on your intended use, you also have the Forester OEM oil cooler as an option, which maybe a much cheaper route.

I, myself, had to build my own custom cooler set-up. Did a track day on Monday and was holding steady at 210-220 F as it warmed up in the afternoon (granted, it was relatively mild, about 75F). In the end, it wasn't cheap and it was a huge pain in the ass, but a fun project and well worth it. (thanks to @NotSoJDM for the idea!)

On a separate note, has anyone done a boost gauge install? I know somebody mentioned there was a 1/8 NPT port in the back of the manifold that can be easily tapped for manifold pressure.

Yes, I would like an answer to this, too! Just thinking about this as I would like to monitor it just to ensure those seals are good.

@NotSoJDM was that you who did a AEM boost gague?

I've been making due with Torque App but find it a bit lacking and little late to react/display data. I know it seems a little dumb to have a boost gauge for an SC since its basically dependent on rpm, but I think our set-up is a special case. The by-pass valve is very dependent on your throttle input, so if you are on partial throttle, you are probably not on boost.
