Pushed as much of the dents out by hand as I could, cleaned the paint off the car...and signed up for two more events at Sebring!

How have the AP brakes being working at Sebring without ducting? Pads hold up well?

Were you able to keep up with oil temps and see how they did at the event?

I am curious, as Sebring is typically a power track with a lot of heavy braking zones.

Hope everything goes more smoothly your next time out!

AP Brakes worked great, never had any fade and didn't boil the fluid. I have the factory backing plates removed to allow some more air to move around them. The Performance Friction 01 compound pads held up very well, used about 25% of the pad over the weekend, plenty of material left for a few more events.

I was using an OBDLink to monitor oil temps and only saw 270's at the end of 2 back to back sessions in the afternoon. Averaged 260-265 for the earlier sessions using 0W-20 Castrol Edge Synthetic, didn't monitor oil pressure. But will likely switch to a 0w-30 to ensure I don't run into any pressure issues.

Sebring is definitely a momentum track for the BRZ, does better than most cars in the turns, but gets killed in the straights.

Some decent lap footage here:

I took the backing plates off my WRX at ViR and melted every boot that existed while driving it at 10/10ths every session. Interesting to hear.

Thanks for the vid! I will check them out later.

As an aside, I have a different problem currently with the c5z06, but I would love to get into a BRZ as a track car. Seems like a great fit!

Thanks for all the updates and glad to see you back on the horse!

Having quite a bit of experience with a BRZ and the Essex brake setup, they work great without fad. If you check the various threads on it in the brake subforum you'll see lots of people with that same experience. I used to beat the living hell out of mine and FINALLY cracked a rotor after trying.. and then parking it hot with no cooldown to jump in the race car.

If you do get a BRZ, get the essex brakes, you won't regret it
