Mild lower core support damage - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hit some falling rock coming down the mountain some time ago. Didn't see this damage initially, but here it is! How should I be going about this? I can straighten it out pretty easily, but if someone has experience with this repair and has some advice, I'm all ears.

The hood, bumper and fenders still meet straight, and there doesn't appear to be damage to anything other than the lower core support.

Note the control arm support, and the mild crumple in the driver's side, right under the radiator.

After some digging, I found that the lower core support has been dented, not bent. Now the debate is whether or not I'm even going to mess with it. It drives straight, and everything seems pretty square when I measure it, aside from that very small portion of the lower core support.

Drives well. Looks fine. Not going to suddenly let go. Leave it alone.

Looks like it did a good job protecting the really important things. Just for fun I'd check your oil pan to be sure nothing made it further back and dented the pan. Seems fine otherwise!

It's the lower core support, the front of the aluminum tray, the radiator, and the front bolts for the control arm supports bolt to it, among other things.

Damage to the pan, frame rail welds, core support welds, panel alignment, steering alignment, and strut tower welds were the first things I checked. I thought I got a clean pass at first, until I was poking around trying to figure out where I'm at as far as brake pad life.

Thats about where I'm at. I pushed the rock for about 20 feet to get off the road, I felt the jarring, heard it for sure, but nothing changed as far as controls go. The road was pretty messy, so it had plenty of lube. Lol

It might be moot point now, but I can't see what you're talking about.

Not to be pretentious, but those are quite low quality images for 2020. Huge loss of detail when trying to look carefully, and lighting is poor.
A little bit of rust on the front lip of the control arm support brace, but that's all I can see really.
I guess I see what looks to be 'the crease' you're talking about under the radiator, but it almost looks factory.
The passenger side bolt for the undertray actually looks tweaked compared to the driver's side.

Yeah...... I had to resize and compress them, but I'm also a neanderthal with phones. I probably went overboard.

I'm just going to let it go. The component locations are well within tolerance, and there aren't any compromised welds. Headed to the road course tonight, so if it's squirrelly I'll come back and fix it. But for now it's fine. Lol
