For blind spots, anyone who has major blind spots has their side mirrors adjusted incorrectly. Your side mirror should pick up a car just as it's leaving the rear view mirror, and once it leaves the side mirror you can do a head check and see the car directly. You'll have very very minor blind spots immediately next to your rear wheels, but nothing big enough to fit a car into.

Cons:
Interior space
No long term testing on the various FI kits out there (50K+ miles)

Pros:
The most fun to drive.
Agreed. However the IAT's are hotter due to poor cooling design and less cooling track. At least on a roots style. Centrifugal is different obviously.

These con's really aren't anything I'm worried about. I'm super short (5'5") so I'll fit in this thing just fine

On this car the centrifugal superchargers are getting the best results over twin screw superchargers. I don't know if anyone makes a roots supercharger for this car.

The "chirp" noise is caused by the ethanol gas. I'm not sure in the US where you live, but I've been using non-ethanol. I'm around 36,000 miles now and don't get the chirp. I even had them replace the part, it came back after 150 miles. Experimented with and without ethanol in the beginning, and that is 100% what is causing it.

I have other crap I have to deal with now, just wrecked it on Saturday ;( So who knows what problems I'll get now.

I have a 2015 put gas in it all the time that has ethanol in it without a problem. Anyone have a problem with crickets in a 2015? Just wondering if they have fixed this.

What about intake valves getting caked in carbon due to the direct injection? Anybody have any issues?

The cars fuel system uses direct injection and port injection so carbon buildup on intake valves should be similar to non direct injected cars.

From the 1000s of post I have read on this it would appear that the sound is more frequent with a a combination of ethanol and high ambient air temperatures.
If you just got your car the temperature may not be high enough to trigger them.
Also some did not develop it until driven a few thousand miles.
There are loads of guys with 15s on here that say they have them so don't have much hope that they "fixed" it.
I had crickets for 3 days this summer when I had to use some ethanol gas but they were gone as soon as I brunet that up and went back to Shell so I am a strong believer in the ethanol = crickets theory.

  1. Lack of sound deadening
  2. Crappy stock tires
  3. Car sounds like it is being over-revved to death when running through the gears
  4. Squeaky A/C compressor
  5. Needs a sun glasses holder
  6. Needs a drink holder that does not require contortion to get to
  7. Needs extending sun visors
  8. Needs windshield sun strip at top - I'm waiting for my windshield to eventually crack so I can replace it with this feature
  9. Needs better speakers, I shouldn't have to crank the radio all the way up into the 30's or 40's to listen to music or podcasts clearly

Fyi in the door there is a drink holder. It doesn't hold a large fast food soda, but that's probably a good thing. Center drink holder, especially when using cigarette lighter for charger, does indeed require some pretty rough body twisting haha.

Gosh, but each one of those aspects about this car is a plus for me and serves a purpose, hence my reason to happily opt for this vehicle... Especially since it places so much importance on the driving experience. Well, that's the way I see it anyway.
