Have to keep that quote in context though: "This can be attributed to the fact that Toyota is the top automobile seller nationally. In 2008, Toyota sold cars to approximately 12.8% of the entire US car market." But ya, no matter which you get you are screwed I just found the headline and choice of car for the picture hilarious!

I think it's about time someone pointed out that the Toyota GT86 is vastly superior to both the BRZ and the FRS in any way imaginable.
- The GT86 has 86mm wide exhaust tips (illegal in North America for some incomprehensible reason) - The GT86 has the 86 logo on the steering wheel. I could just go on and on, of course, but you've got the idea. |

And...when you turn the steering wheel to far your 86 turns into a 98 and that ain't cool!

I know better, there's more Toyota in the drivetrain but still. Soft spot for Subaru even though I got the FRS. |

The brz sounds like a Subaru because it has a boxer and the frs sounds more like a Toyota because inline 4.

To keep saying they are "mostly Subaru because they are assembled there" is just silly. When you look at the excellent list complied by Bristecom you will see that many of the parts are in fact common to both brands even during regular production of other models: *Not typical for Toyota **Not typical for Subaru Subaru Engine (With direction from Toyota)* Toyota/Aisin Transmission (Tuned by Subaru)** Toyota/JTEKT/Torsen Limited Slip Differential** NTN Driveshafts/CV Joints* Toyota/JTEKT/Koyo Wheel Bearings/Hubs** Toyota/JTEKT/Denso Electric Power Steering** Toyota/Denso Direct Fuel Injectors** Denso/Kyosan Fuel Pump Toyoda Gosei Fuel Tank Inlet and Cap** Sakamoto Fuel Tank Denso Iridium Spark Plugs** Diamond Direct Ignition Coils Mitsubishi Electric Alternator* Mitsubishi Electric Starter Motor* Mitsuboshi Drive Belt Denso A/C Components (Condenser, Compressor, HVAC Unit, Filter)** Denso Radiator Denso Sensors Denso ECU Denso Airbox and Filter (Toyota Size)** Tokyo Roki Oil Filter* Mahle Japan Sound Creator Subaru Chassis and Suspension* Showa Dampers* Sachs Dampers (MY2015)** Mitsubishi Steel Springs* Exedy Clutch Nabtesco Clutch Cylinders* Bosch ABS Pump Toyota/Denso/Aisin ABS/EBD/VSC/TRAC Logic** Hitachi/Tokico Brake Booster, Master Cylinder, Hose, and Calipers* Aisin (Advics) Brake Discs and Pads** Yokohama Spare Tire Denso Window Motor** Asahi Glass Mitsuba Door Mirrors* Mitsuba Turn Signal Lamps* Koito Head/Tail Lamps Denso HID Ballast** Toshiba HID Bulb Panasonic Battery Niles TRAC/VSC, Display, and Brake Switches* Alps Door Switches* Tokai Rika Seat Belts Toyota Boshoku Seats** Toyoda Gosei Airbags** Toyoda Gosei Steering Wheel Toyota/Tokai Rika Clockspring and Multi-Function Switches** Toyota/Tokai Rika/Denso/Yazaki Climate Control Switches** Toyota/Tokai Rika/Denso/Aisin Immobilizer/Remote/Keyless System** Toyota/Pioneer/Harman Sound and Navigation System (FR-S/GT86)** Subaru/Fujitsu-Ten/Pioneer Sound and Navigation System (BRZ)* Citizen/Rhythm Watch Co. Digital Clock* Denso Instrument Cluster Toyota Aerodynamics Toyota Exterior and Interior Design (Except for the BRZ front bumper) So ... when seen as a total, Toyota has a minor lead in the parts used no matter where the car was assembled. If you really want too nit pick about who made what, then these cars should really be called ToyoDenSakDiaMitTokMahExeNamBosHitAisYokNilAlpCitA rus! __________________

Most people out there don't know about the Twins and that is why there can be so many misconceptions! Unfortunately, from what we see here even people that should know (sales) fall for the rumors and misinformation. To quote myself from a previous thread: Most people don't know it is a $25K car! Most people don't know it is a "slow" car. Most people don't know there are two Twins Most people don't know squat about these cars. We as "car guys" know these things and seem to assume that everybody else does as well. This is so far from reality it is ridiculous!
