These threads are dumb. Way too many variables and what's the point when you can just contact your agent and get a quote?

BTW anyone that has GEICO should drop them ASAP. They have cheap prices but horrible service if you actually need them. Especially if you're an auto enthusiast and actually care about your car.

No offense, but I find that claim highly questionable. And anyone that pays over $5000/year just to insure a vehicle, in a city where you don't even need a vehicle...wtf?

You're right, I remembered wrong, it was $390 a month:

I was also paying $500 a month for the car itself and $420 for parking. Its expensive but I like cars and I can afford it.

Now I'm paying $420 for parking and $228 for esurance per month.

Paying $425/6months on my 2015 BRZ. Also have a Lexus 2008 IS250 and am paying $480/6months and I'm 33. So a total of about $905/6 months.

Interesting was that I owned a 2008 M3 prior to the BRZ as my second car and only paid $200/6months. Was a little shocked to see that when I sold my M3 for $34k and bought my BRZ for $20k. All I can figure is that kids must be buying and crashing these cars all the time. lol

THIS!

No one in this thread has even mentioned deductibles and definitions of "totaled", etc. These are major cost factors.

Decide how much coverage you want for each category, like collision, liability (you and others), deductibles, options like towing, rentals, co-insurance, bundles, etc.
Check ratings for several major insurance underwriters.
Call several of these companies for quotes with the exact same coverages and options.
Compare rates and service ratings.
Pick best.

Repeat every year or two. Rates change.

My initial call to my insurance guy it was more then my '14 SS Camaro. I asked why and he said the brz is a high powered performance sports car. I laughed and told him its more then half the hp of the Camaro. So he called me back and now its the same as my old 2001 Forester.

431.43 over 6 months with GEICO. Everybody else quoted me ~1k for 6 months.

23 when I bought the car in NC (first car).
Bodily Injury Liability : 100k/300k
Property Damage : 100k
Medical : 5k/person
Uninsured: 100k/300k
Uninsured Property : 100k

Non Collision : 500
Collision : 500
Towing : covered
Rental : 30/day, 900 max

Dunno how much this helps

My rates went up a decent amount vs. my '17 WRX, but it wasn't too bad.
