Funny how you're telling me to read the words. I never said I favor shipping vs quality and the Perrin comment was a general example, not directed to you.

When it comes down to it i'll pick what best fits me, as I hope you do for yourself.

@driver01 did you ever have this resolved with HKS?

I contacted my vendor, who has got in touch with their U.S. rep; Apparently HKS knows about the defect and has stopped shipping these exhausts, but I am still waiting to hear something back regarding what to do with mine now 3 weeks later.

Edit: I am also curious to hear from owners of the HKS Legamax setup whether or not they are experiencing the same issues.

Do you have the Hi Power Spec L or the Legamax? Just getting yours tig welded or what? I have been waiting on some kind of resolution through HKS before I pay out of pocket to get the exhaust fixed.

One thing to note, hks make quality products and i have had on a custom exhaust with a hi power exhaust tip. Never had problems with hks or any other top japanese part. Thing is when you install n e exhaust like these you gotta spray or pait something on it. I seen my machanic do this and others with high hp . Maybe for salt but im not sure y. The only american part for exhaust i use is magnaflow. They make quality stuff.

Mine is Spec L. My shop will weld it first cuz it's leaking now, than they will contact with HKS to change a new one.

I guess either much fewer people have the Legamax or it isn't having these issues? I've had my eye on that exhaust, but am nervous about HKS's current quality level.

Seems like an increasingly common problem with companies known for solid stuff in the past suddenly becoming less than reliable... regardless of country of origin. Eden amps comes to mind.

Bump to ensure nobody is wasting their money on this product without a response from HKS.

Going on over 10 weeks now and I still can't get a response from HKS.

Unacceptable! HKS used to produce top quality stuff..
How did this ever get passed QC. They get top dollar for their products.. You should raise hell and get what you paid for..
