Why is it jerking when shift change from 1st to 2nd and bit on 3rd after that smooth?

Lower and shorter gears have less margin for error. Just keep practicing.

From what you've been saying I think you're expecting that driving as/nearly as smoothly as an automatic will happen sooner than later.

It'll happen, but it's just going to take time and practice.

I'm about 18 months into driving manual and I still occasionally get jerking during that gear change/shift. It just happens. But over time you're going to learn how to transition much more smoothly.

So, just be patient.

I never make a mistake, and every shift I make is perfect. That's because I don't dig my heel into the floor.

im ultra perfect smooth shifts!!!1

But then I learned to drive stick on an even peakier engine with short gearing (Toyota 2zz-ge + C60 6 speed manual)

Ok im probably not perfect, but I can adjust my timing to find that smooth shift :p

99.99999996% of my shifts are good but every once in a while for whatever reason...

It's harder to drive smoothly with A/C on.

I agree, I turn off while shifting until 6th gear, then turn on A/C, I sweat a lot by then.

You guys are kidding right? Modern AC compressors are very low-drag. This isn't a Geo Metro.
