Oh I doubt that. I think it'll come in around 17-18lbs.

Unfortunately, no one has a rim to weigh yet.

Except for Toyota, who released the weight 4 or 5 months ago. If I were stating a guess instead of a fact I would have stated it as such.

What I couldn't remember for sure is how much past 20 it was, hence the .X. IIRC it's 9.4KG, which is 20.7lbs.

I had NO idea that info was even out there..

Wow. I'm shocked by the weight. I've been scrounging for good rims in the 17-18lb range and gave up on a lot of nice 19 and 20lb rims. I can go with a heavier rim and a light tire or go with a better, heavier tire now. This makes me VERY happy.

20.1 lbs for a 17x7 OEM cast wheel that has to survive all sorts of snow-belt pothole disasters is actually a reasonable weight.

I'm surprised they are that light, or that they will be when the car actually come out. The wheels and tires on my 06 WRX were 48 lbs together. I dropped a lot of weight when I switched them out.

Stock NC Miata 17x7+55 wheels are 17.0 lb. 20.1 is very heavy (18% more) for the same size. While the very lightest NCs are 2441 lb, the very heaviest (power retractable hard top with AT and Grand Touring trim) is about 2600, so the FR-S/BRZ is right around 5% heavier than the heaviest car that NC wheels support.

Subaru 16*6.5 +55 cast wheels weigh approximately 17lbs. Forged aluminum BBS wheels that came on the '04 STI (17*7.5 +53) weigh also approximately 17lbs. Stock cast wheels are generally heavy...

The 18x8.5" 350Z track wheels are about 18lbs each and the 18x8" +45mm Altima SE-R wheels are a few ounces heavier. Both are forged too.

I also have a set of 18x8 SSR Comps that weigh 16lbs each - 39lbs with tire.

/adding info for the sake of adding info
