maybe try removing the cable and plugging everything back in with the car off. Then with the car off and the tablet plugged back in, go to the flash new rom section and follow the directions from there. I had mine error out when I was trying to start a tune this weekend and it was because I already had my key turned to ACC before I got the "Key on and Confirm" prompt.

best I can think of, good luck

you probably disconnected the OFT from the cable, but did you try dis/reconnecting the cable to the obd port? I heard sometimes it has a bad connection. Barring that, I would definitely give the OFT sales team a call.

Man, it says explicitly do not open or close doors!

That sucks. I wonder if it's stuck in some diagnostic mode.

Just try unplugging, plugging and then write the original file. See if that works. Also be 100% that the ignition is ON fully. If that doesn't work, the next step is debugging through analysis of the user log file to see exactly what happened.

UPDATE: just spoke with OP, his original ROM and tuned files are still saved on his OFT, still troubleshooting the write process error. We are analyzing the LOG file now.

Yeah i did but the only thing that i changed on the map was the launch control/ launch control cut off and the flatfoot shifting.
Ok when you used romraider did you use the new v2.xx definitions that came with the v2.xx tunes or did you use the romraider defs you had previously from the v1.5x tunes ?

That's not good news. I suspect you used an old XML file instead of the new XML files that are included with the v2 maps. Did you read the read me file that came with the v2.0 maps?

Specifically
OFT OTS v2.06x\OFT OTS v2.062\BINs\ZA1J___C ROMS (US 6MT)\Stage 2 UEL - 91oct
STAGE 2 UEL A01C.bin

and

OFT_ZA1JA01C.xml
That's good news. But let's confirm that. Open the OTS map (before you changes) using the same XML that is currently saved in Romraider. What are the values you see in the default FFS/LC parameters?

ok thats good, using incorrect defs can brick ecu.

the worring thiing is the oft does not appear to be able to talk to ecu.
it has power to obd port as the oft powers up so it not blown fuse for obd port power.

it could be a dodgy cable or obd socket. where popwer connection is ok but one of the data lines/pins is crook

hopefully the oft guys will turn up something from logs.

I feel like we could find some way to make this a little more foolproof. When a ROM is being uploaded, CRC different chunks of it to ensure only known tables have been modified. If anything else is, notify the user and confirm. Maybe even have an initial "novice" mode that restricts editing to a few common tables like MAF scale, FFS, LC, etc.

unfortunatly their is not a low level boot proceedure that has been tested on these ecu.

the ecu is not actually stuffed its just had a program file written to it that has sent it off with the faries and it no longer talkes to the obd port.

you would now have to remove ecu make circuits and solder direct to the board to talk to the SH 72531 micro controller directly using the renasas flash toolkit to erase and reprogram it. no one has done this yet apart from maybe ecutek. The tactrix guys have not done it yet either and are not sure if the renasas tool will work.
