just because our cars got distributed by scion, why the hate for it?? Its toyota's great makreting scheme, and people like us (86 enthusiasts lol) are forced to keep the company alive.

I do believe you are correct on that, plus it would help eliminate the Toyota = Bland formula that it has right now.

My biggest complaint about the FR-S is it had power windows. Didn't really care about those either. Throw on top of that the dealer "options and special sauce" charges for the BRZ and I was all Scion. Would I prefer it be a Toyota? Sure, but ONLY if it was exactly as configured and exactly the same price. Even as a 1st86, I was ready to walk if the Scion had been over $25K with a MT.

Your poll is biased.
You have two yes answers and an indifferent answer. There is no "No, Scion should stay" answer, so no matter how you look at the end result of the poll it'll appear that Scion should be axed because everyone either wants them gone or doesn't care either way. I also don't think that Toyota has enough sporty models without cannibalizing the sporty Lexuses... Lexuss... Lexi? We're going with Lexi. to support a third brand. |

If toyota had the celica, 86, IQ, xb and w/e all branded as Toyota instead of scion. It wouldn't change the demograph of who would be buying those cars. just my opinion

To me, Scion is just a badge. NOTAFUCKGIVEN.
Makes no difference to me if the vehicle says Toyota or Scion. I honestly don't see why people care if their cars are badged either way. Do you feel cooler having Toyota badges? |

Scion is crap. The FR-S should not be a Scion. It should be a Toyota as it is in fact, not crap. Seems as if most FR-S owners are reporting that their registration says Toyota anyway.

The Scion brand is simply a marketing tool. There is no history, no dude named Scion, nothing in the Toyota world that has anything to do with Scion.
The brand was created solely for the purpose of getting young people into Toyota products. Scion is the entry point, of what everyone at Toyota (me included) hope will be many years of purchases from the company. No 19-25yr old ever wanted to be the one that drove a Toyota due to the reputation for blandness. They will however buy Scions. Toyota would be throwing billions of $ away by scuttling the brand now. One thing Toyota doesn't do very often is give up. Formula 1 not withstanding. |
