MomHawk and I took a trip to a rented lakehouse in Florida this past week in the 86. Here is what was packed in the car for the return trip. 3 suitcases, 5 misc. shopping size bags, a laundry basket (containing some kitchen and bar supplies) a yoga mat, and (not shown) two king-size pillows, an igloo water jug and a tackle box. All of it fit in the car, without getting in the way of the driving view as seen in the second photo.

Thanks for sharing, DH. That's very cool to see. Were you or your wife a quartermaster in a past life? Very neat packing job. Also makes me confident in being able to pack the car well for a long term road trip.

Hah! No but I did waste a lot of time in the 90's playing Tetris!

I went the opposite way and took everything out! The trunk liner, the tools, the spare. It's just bare metal. I figure I saved some weight! Not to mention now I have so much more room.

Coming home from vacation last year, with all the seats up I managed to squeeze in a stand golf bag, a large sports bag, three cases of beer (24x33cl) and 2-3 plastic bags with random stuff. This was just in the trunk, not using the passenger space.

Haha, so do I. My driver gets to rest diagonally in the back seat since it doesn't even physically fit in the trunk.

Well guys I did it. I fit an entire drum kit and hardware into my FRS... and honestly it was easy. In a lot of ways, this car has more space than my old 4-door Protege. My kit is currently 2 toms, bass, snare + hardware and cymbals. Although, I had space left, and I could probably fit my entire kit which adds 2 more toms and a couple cymbals/hardware.

3 main reasons I found out:

- The trunk doesn't have those stupid metal pieces that go down when you close it, so the trunk space you see is the trunk space you get. Super important with the oddly shaped drum hardware.

- The trunk with the rear seats down is completely flat as you know, plus, it has a TON of length-wise space which is PERFECT for my hardware. Just slide it in and it's a perfect length. It was just as easy as loading in into an SUV or van to be honest because of this.

- The door openings are huge, I didn't have any trouble putting the seat up and fitting a 16" floor tom into the back seat (folded down). No scraping, tons of room on every side.

I didn't even try to do this methodically. Just literally threw it all into the car pretty quick to test it out and this is what happened. I can probably find a way to make even more space, but as you can see... I had a ton of space leftover in the passenger rear side.

I also made a video that is uploading, I'll edit this post later with the link.

I haven't but that should be pretty easy to figure out since the dimensions are pretty straight forward. Also, if you can get one in, you can probably get several.

I'm stealing these from here:

A: width at lower opening 26"
B: floor width side-to-side inside opening 55"
C: floor width side-to-side between wheel wells 42"
D: maximum opening width 36"
E: opening height 15.5"
F: floor length to top of seat, folded down 53.5"
G: floor length from opening to center console 88"
H: floor length to back of seat when up 32"
I: height from floor to top of trunk 15". minimum height by rear seat opening 13.5"

Me. Two of those, with chairs stacked on top. You'll have to put the back seat down, of course.

Sweet, thanks! Did you put the table in from the front? The trunk opening seems like it wouldn't be wide enough, but I haven't actually tried yet.

I put it in from the back, the widest part is just wide enough. Dadhawk posted the dimensions. Maybe it's time to get the measuring tape out? You're looking to match dimension D.

I fit four wheels with tires, coilovers, LCA's, toe arms, end links, arm rest, 4th brake light, and all of my winnings from Dave & Buster's from the previous night with ease.
