Drove down to Boston yesterday, had people staring at my car as they drove by, had someone honk and give me the thumbs up, while parked at a Burger King I had people walk around my car taking pictures, then at the valet the guy complimented my car and said he never saw a Subaru like this before.

On Thursday I had 2 people stop me to ask me about the car. One was a woman driving a Miata just outside a store after I parked. The other was a guy who owned an Impreza when I was going up an elevator in a building. Both seemed fascinated by the car but the guy kept me talking for 5 minutes asking me question after question.

Earlier on in the day I had a guy that was following me for 5+ minutes. When I turned onto a road with 2-lanes he raced up and stopped next to me at a red light. He pointed at my car, gave a big smile and a thumbs up. I felt like such a dork... I was like... Ugh... Not sure what to do! So I gave him a quick wave and a thumbs up back and he laughed. I think I was actually blushing a little! Sometimes I feel like a pretty girl driving it.

Wife and I just ate dinner at a pizza place in a shopping center, from which we had a clear view of the parked BRZ. The most hysterical gawking yet was an older guy wearing a large straw hat to shade the sun, walking around the car, methodically stopping every few feet to view it from every conceivable angle, then backing away from the car to get additional farther views from every angle. Must have spent at least five minutes just walking around my car and repositioning himself.

On the way down to dinner, driving down the I-5, an STI driver took out his phone and was trying to snap pictures, then a passenger in a WRX stuck her head out the window, looking backward, to get a better view.

This car gets more attention than my SVX, and than the Turbo Brat I used to own. I have a feeling it's not for long...already passed a Black BRZ on a freeway frontage road yesterday. With all the looks these are getting, won't be too long before these and the Scions are as common as STIs.

This has been the funniest one yet.

I was driving on the interstate when an older beat up corvette pulled up next to me and I can see the dude is checking my car out pretty hard. He pulls up in front of me and then too the other side. He starts accelerating and breaking trying to get to race him a little. There is quite a bit of traffic and I am in no mood to get a ticket so I don't comply. He keeps doing the same thing for a bit, then takes off going probably about 95+. He keeps going down the freeway until I cant see his tail lights anymore. Then about 2 minutes later I pass him as a cop is pulling him over. I got a good laugh out of the whole thing.

In my neck of the woods I'm getting zip. The only notice so far was someone asked what kind of Subaru it was. When I got to the it does not have AWD I got a "you're kidding!"

Now mind you, I can drive around all day in my '89 Porsche Carrera and not get any attention.

Now, if I went out in a new Ford, Chevy or Dodge 3/4 ton four wheel drive diesel pickup I'd be getting a lot of attaboy's!

I rather enjoy this as then no unwanted attention is ever drawn to my cars.

Yeah! How dare the common and curious public not know the specific details of a brand new 2013 model car in June of 2012. You tell 'em!

Well yeah when you say it like that it makes me kind of a prick. I really figured car enthusiasts would have already known this by now since its been in the news enough. That particular guy owned a WRX.

I took my mom to a toyota dealership to pick up her camry that had maintenance work done. When I pulled into the parking lot, a bunch of salesmen from the dealership started taking pics of the car. The funniest thing is when one of the guys started yelling "Why did you put a subaru emblem on a FRS?" and I was like "Eh...dude, this is not a FRS, it's a BRZ". Most of them thought I took a FRS and souped it up. What was supposed to be a simple ten minute pickup ended up being a one hour and a half FAQ discussion.

Gotta love a sales guy that doesn't make an effort to know their products.

You'd think that selling new cars where there are only so many models to know this would take no time to do. A bit more work was necessary to keep up on televisions and high end stereo/home theater when I sold them.

One of the salespeople from a local Subaru dealerships had never heard of the "BZR" and was sure "Subaru has no RWD Coupes in the pipeline, perhaps you're thinking of a different brand, Subaru focuses on AWD and its rally heritage(blah blah blah for another 2 minutes)"

It's so sad really
