Australia Gets 2014 BRZ S...Soon

My first post. Sorry if its a repost, I searched and couldnt find it on the forum. Thought you guys might find it interesting.

http://www.torquenews.com/1084/subar...ce-models-year

The new performance BRZ S to launch next month
The 2014 BRZ S, which will soon be an addition to the line-up, will feature a range of Subaru Tecnica International (STI)-inspired equipment. This BRZ S will be sold exclusively online from mid-June and will feature a distinctive sports pack. The factory-backed pack comprises a long list of components that distinguish it from the standard BRZ. The BRZ S will be track ready and will include front under, side, rear-side and boot lip spoilers, a flexible tower bar, coil spring set and 17-inch black STI alloy wheels.
Subaru did not announce what engine specs the new BRZ S will come with, but it’s not likely to have a turbo upgrade. The BRZ STI that has been seen testing at Germany’s Nurburgring track will likely be what we see on the new BRZ S. It will get upgrades to the intake system on the 2.0-liter boxer engine that is reported to bump the horsepower from the current 200 hp to around 220-230 horsepower. Additional power will be added by Subaru making adjustments to the dual active valve control system. The maximum rpm’s could also be raised past the current 7,500 rpm limit. A new free flowing exhaust system will improve exhaust flow and reduce back pressure.

I wonder if the intake system is a complete revamp or just something like the trd box...

Note: it says "intake system" not intake. You don't get 30 HP from just an air box and tube. It also mentioned exhaust.

This sounds like more speculation than anything.

Well, they did say intake, exhaust and tune basically for that HP number. Who knows?

The BRZ S is a stock standard BRZ with STi parts installed by Subaru Australia. I can confirm there are no modifications on the engine. Subaru Australia has called it the BRZ S rather than the BRZ STi for this reason.

More information - Subaru BRZ S

Went to get my car service last week, here are some photos of the BRZ S at Subaru Docklands (Melbourne)

Bonus - 2014 WRX Concept

God I hate that STI spoiler.....it looks like they just put some random spoiler on top of the trunk.....

The sides don't even reach the edges of the trunk...why would they do that?

I remember this link from when everyone was on the 2014 brz new release hype. dismissed as rumors of course, better to wait and see an official release.

Hahaha, that spoiler looks like a chode. The wheels look good though. Hope they're light!

The wheels are about 18lbs each.

Looks like they don't give you the STI sports exhaust though as I see the stock tips. That's a bummer.
