Thanks for the tips.
Picked up a set of Mechanix gloves for $15 from Wally World... (along with some condoms and beer to go along!) J/K.

I have Alpinestars 1-KX Karting Gloves.
Absolutely love them. Outer stitching makes the feel much better. |

Resurrecting this thread..
I've tried out several gloves before finding these by accident, since they're not really considered driving gloves. But they're my favorite so far! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GGZ0BNO/ Found these over the winter, and they're awesome if you: 1) HATE thick gloves, but need more grip on the steering wheel & shift knob 2) Need insulation from your freezing metal shift knob 3) Need insulation from your hot metal shift knob 4) Need your fingertips to use the touchscreen of the NAV/stereo system They're thin enough where my hand doesn't sweat a ton in warmer weather. But if you live where it's freezing cold, they might not be enough insulation either. |

I've had these for years. EXTREMELY comfortable, great grip, fit well. The only downside is that they sort of wore down the leather on the shifter of my last car. Haven't worn them since I moved to the FR-S, but this thread made me go look for them. I'll try'em out tonight. Wheelskins driving gloves...

Personally, I use batting gloves. Great for keeping sweaty hands firm on the wheel, they are fairly light and breathable, and they last a good bit. Good grip, not expensive. I'm also tempted to try golf gloves (right and left hands covered, of course, when driving). Seems like that would be a win too.

I have an old pair of Uras gloves that have served me well and are quite comfortable/durable. not really sure if they still make them, but i've had them for years and would recommend. .

Sparco or Alpinestars FIA driving gloves are the only way to go. 1. They are correct for the application. 2. They are fire retardant. 3. Again, they are correct for the application. 4. You have a great start to safety equipment for when you're ready for wheel-to-wheel racing.
If you want driving gloves (which I HIGHLY recommend) then get driving gloves. They're not that expensive and they're well worth the investment.
