Thanks for the tips.

Picked up a set of Mechanix gloves for $15 from Wally World... (along with some condoms and beer to go along!) J/K.

I have Alpinestars 1-KX Karting Gloves.

Absolutely love them. Outer stitching makes the feel much better.

Resurrecting this thread..

I've tried out several gloves before finding these by accident, since they're not really considered driving gloves. But they're my favorite so far!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GGZ0BNO/

Found these over the winter, and they're awesome if you:
1) HATE thick gloves, but need more grip on the steering wheel & shift knob
2) Need insulation from your freezing metal shift knob
3) Need insulation from your hot metal shift knob
4) Need your fingertips to use the touchscreen of the NAV/stereo system

They're thin enough where my hand doesn't sweat a ton in warmer weather. But if you live where it's freezing cold, they might not be enough insulation either.

My bro-in-law got me Bionic gloves as a present a couple of years ago. I didn't know anything about them but I've used them the past few years at the track and they work well! They're a little tight but they stretch out over time and they offer good grip of the wheel on hot summer days.

I've had these for years. EXTREMELY comfortable, great grip, fit well. The only downside is that they sort of wore down the leather on the shifter of my last car. Haven't worn them since I moved to the FR-S, but this thread made me go look for them. I'll try'em out tonight. Wheelskins driving gloves...

+1 for these. External seams are a must on racing gloves because otherwise your ring/pinky fingers don't fit properly. I use these things everywhere I drive because I always want full control of my car. Great for autocross but horrible for cell phone use.

+1 for alpine stars. Amazing gloves. I had a pair of sparco nomex way back in 2004. Couple years later i got a pair of alpine stars and never looked back. Sorry no pic they are in my helmet in helmet bag burried in vette in crappy 1 car garage.

Those are rad, been considering some vintage looking gloves for the vette. Just think that would look more period correct in a 66 stingray. Thanks!

Personally, I use batting gloves. Great for keeping sweaty hands firm on the wheel, they are fairly light and breathable, and they last a good bit. Good grip, not expensive. I'm also tempted to try golf gloves (right and left hands covered, of course, when driving). Seems like that would be a win too.

Sparco or Alpinestars FIA driving gloves are the only way to go. 1. They are correct for the application. 2. They are fire retardant. 3. Again, they are correct for the application. 4. You have a great start to safety equipment for when you're ready for wheel-to-wheel racing.

If you want driving gloves (which I HIGHLY recommend) then get driving gloves. They're not that expensive and they're well worth the investment.
