3D vinyl vs 3M Di Noc

There is plenty with this purchase to do everything in your car.
Quality is good, although it doesn't have the air release channels like the 3m Nidoc wrap. Having said that for about 1/5th the price what do you expect.

Hi there mate, I was wondering how would you compare this product with 3m di Noc. I have worked with DiNoc extensively and I am quite happy with the way it shapes and everything. However, your film looks game, and I really like it. How doe it feel when you touch it? Does it have that CF dry feel (like Dinoc) or it's smooth? Also, how easy does it go around difficult shapes? Is the adhesive good enough or strong enough?
Is this a bit shinnier than the DiNoc 3M?

Good job by the way, it looks good.

I honestly can't compare it to 3m. I've only ever done the vinyling mentioned in this thread and only with the eBay product.

Feeling wise - you can feel the CF texturing and strength of adhesive is good. When I was re-doing the centre dash pieces around the HVAC controls, I had to warm the vinyl up to get it off easily otherwise I found it only coming off in little bits, once warmed up it came off in one or two large pieces.

In regards of ease of use and shaping I had no issues, it softens really easily with a hairdryer, molds well to corners etc and easy to stretch out creases.

I am looking at some 3M di-Noc to cover the two dash board pieces due to a problem that I discuss in this thread:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17380

I am hoping with the air release channels, there'll be less heating and stretching involved and less chance of further damage to my dashboard pieces.

Due to price of the eBay stuff it was more of a cheap solution to try out to see if a) I was any good at it and b) if I liked the effect. That way if either a or b failed it wasn't going to be a lot of money down the drain.

Having seen the effect now and liking the product I'm not adverse to shelling out a bit more $$$$ to finish off the dash board pieces. I would have had to buy some more anyway to finish these two pieces off and I reckon the 3M shouldn't cost too much more for a small area.

Hope this helps.

Hey Hawk, FYI I have now ordered a pice of 3M Di-NOC to recover the steering wheel trim as the piece of vinyl I have there keeps lifting, I also have some WP3000 primer on order to. I will give you some feedback on the difference when I use it.

Cheers mate, looking forward to it. By the sounds of it, it would be very similar to Dinoc 3M, but I will weait for your feedback first. I have some Dinoc left overs at home I could use to do my GTS when it comes.

Here's the latest addition to Hedgehog, my @GrimmSpeed Limited Edition oil filler cap, it's as good as it looks:

I'm also down to get the matching L.E. battery tie down.
Nice bit of under bonnet bling.

Thanks to @cto424 too for selling it to me
