Hey, you're telling me ......

Yesterday, I drug one of my 10 speed bikes up out of the basement, pumped up the tires and was ready to go bike riding with my two granddaughters on their new mountain bikes.

Well, guess what ..... you know that old saying about once you learn how to ride a bicycle, you never forget how ........ that ain't all that true .....

I hopped on that bike and was all over the sidewalk and within 10 feet, I crashed and sort of fell off. Granddaughter says "are you OK, pa-pa". I said there is something wrong with the bike, I'll go back and get your little sister, put her in her stroller and go along with you.

The next day, I tried it again (it's been over 50 years since I've ridden a bicycle) and ......damn, I had a horrible time. You know, to ride a 10 speed, you have to do four things ...... steer, keep your balance, change gears and apply the brakes. Well, I can do two sometimes three of those things at once ..... but not all four........

So, ya .......I'm getten older .......

Just look at that thing. It's so comfortable you'll never have to.

Wow this thread went off the rails fast and furious style!

I have Kartboy, Mtec springs, had whiteline insert (which was good) but now have solid transmission mounts. Very solid shifter feel. Felt good to start with.

So I went to the dealership at lunch. My local Subaru dealer doesn't have a shop they use the Lincoln dealer across up the street.. They said, and I quote, "The BRZ is a cheap car and it has a cheap shifter. They are not made with premium products so you should not expect a premium feel." I have to go to Houston this weekend so I will take the car to another dealership. As it stands I might just have to start replacing parts.

In case anyone asks it was North Park Subaru in San Antonio. They didn't know how to make the keyless entry open the passenger door with the driver door either.

Sounds like a standard response they give to people regarding other car brands that they literally know nothing about. Or maybe they were just a hardcore Matthew Mcconaughey fanboy and wanted to bring you over to the dark side...

Surely there is more than one Subaru dealer in San Antonio ..... ??

Where did you buy the car .. ?? I'd suggest you take it back there ...... and while you're at that dealership, ask to take a drive in another car like yours, just to make sure that the "sloppy shifting" isn't in your head......

59 VW bus. Take two beetle's worth of slop, combine them, and serve it up through a long noodle.

Glorious.
