After the next tune, there will be no flkc past 0.9. So why am I still dropping IAM?

If your battery completely dies, do you need to reflash the maps? Or just let it idle for a few mins to readjust before driving?

My car was running on E85 and has been sitting for a while.

Unless your battery dies in the middle of flashing, it won't affect your tune.

FLKC is not directly timing correction. FLKC is fine learning KC. When the ECU detects knock enough to pull timing, it will drop the IAM, and as a result you will see FLKC be a negative number.

This means the ECU is pulling timing. The ECU will keep the timing pulled until a certain amount of time, then start slowing adding timing again in the troublesome areas, until it starts knocking again, or until it adds max timing.

Note that IAM won't immediately go back to 1, as it'll need to continue adding timing in troublesome areas until you reach max timing again.

You need to log at minimum IAM, and KC values. FLKC is useful when you are toying with rpm & load to try and trick the ECU to knock, or add back timing.

The ecu uses some calculation to look at fbkc and flkc to determine when it will drop iam or increase iam. It apoears to look at the magnitude of the knock and the frequency and duration of the events. You can get the odd spike of say -2 flkc and not drop iam but if you get repeated events of even -0.6 in quick sucession it may drop iam.

It then looks for knock free or minimal knock passes through the rpm load areas where its seen knock events previpously to determine if it will increase iam.

you can often get your iam back to 1 by doing a number of light steady throttle say 15% throttle runs in second or third from 2000 to 5500 or so. At light loadsecu wont see knock and will increment iam back towards one

Some help necessary here. Setup:

Open Flash OFT300 package
Vortech supercharger (standard pulley)
Open Flash Header
Stock catback
Vortech Maxflow BOV

Logs: http://datazap.me/u/sirsol66hotmailc...data=1-2-10-11

Car is showing very very high fuel trims (25+) at idle and low RPM areas. Car is running completely fine but the trims are not settling. No knock at WOT pulls.

Exhaust has been leak checked and no issues. I will leak check the intake side this week.

One thing I noted is that the BOV is completely open at idle and moving A LOT of air. I never ran the normal vortech bypass valve so I am not sure how the maxflow compares with it. Can this be contributing to the high fuel trims?

Bov continuously open at idle does not sound correct, should only be venting overpressure like when you back off throttle after reving engine. I wold ring the oft guys

If its venting all

Steve I had the same experience coming from Evo's but based on everything I've read about the vortech kit, this is normal. The sc makes positive pressure at idle so the bov stays open to vent it, similar to the bypass valve on an innovate.

I did notice that the car is only registering 9 inches of vacuum at idle...and that doesn't sound right. Anyone with the vortech kit that can chime in how much is normal vacuum at idle?

Just recently got on this OFT gravy train. Installed stage 1 93 tune and I already understand the hype. Car feels a lot smoother from 1.5k - 4.5k and then whooosh. I can definitely tell the difference, and no stutter from the gas pedal in low speed 1st or 2nd. Thanks @Shiv@Openflash

Finally nailed the 89 octane ethanol free tune. Thanks for the help guys. Peak hp is the same, didn't have to pull timing up there.
If anyone wants improved throttle response, better low end torque, and gasoline that doesn't decompose oil and fuel lines, let me know.
Also the noisy cricket is gone.

OpenFlash Manager link is down again....... 404 error
Also OTS v2.0 Beta downloads fine but when unzipping it shows "OTS v2.0 Beta USDM only.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged"

Does anyone have a mirror?
