How much "jiggling or play" is normal with the FR-S hood?

At 70-80 mph, looking down the driver's side line, the hood is rising up approx 1/4 inch and the hood seems to have some vibration. Is this normal? Thanks for any info.

It's not uncommon. Crosswinds make it worse. It's not going to go anywhere though. Tested above 100 mph on a closed circuit.

I doesn't really make any difference. You stop noticing after a while.

In order for the hood to close there has to be some play in the latch. Add the extreme light weight of the aluminum hood and the result is some lift when driving. All is good and nothing to worry about as long as it is flush when stopped.

All cars do it. The shape of the hood at the fender bulges on ours just make t more obvious than others. If it was flat it could lift as much but you just wouldn't notice it.

this might be a dumb question but are you sure its closed properly and you haven't accidentally hit the open latch from inside. 1/4 inch of play sounds like the hood isn't closed

I doubt it is actually a 1/4 inch. Just seems like it. Love to see somebody climb out and measure it whale going down the highway.

After about a month, at 1000 miles, I brought my FR-S in for an oil and filter change ( I negotiated a free one during the purchasing process). I had noticed the same thing - the hood on the driver side was a little "loose". There were no questions asked, the technician adjusted the stops and it now shuts tight. I don't have any trouble opening the hood. The OP might just want to bring it in and have them check it.
