Bah another West Coast series. Nothing national about it. I was really hoping it would be a World Challege Touring Car A build.

It's all determined by who comes out. Everyone asks for somethign to be organized, but nobody steps up to the plate to organize, and on the rare occasion someone does, the turnouts are small.

Except in SoCal.

I totally understand it, just wished it was different. Been burned plenty of times planing things for people who did a lot of talk and then when it comes down to it, don't participate or have excuses.

Robert Stout of Scion Racing runs in GTS for WC. This build and program is to relate to people, much like those on this forum, who have an FR-S and want to see it's potential as a production vehicle with little modifications.

I'm all for more horsepower and bigger and better everything, but if you look at from a perspective of what 90% of the market buys this program relates to those people. It is a tangible idea, team, build.

I am thankful for the support that Scion puts towards road racing, especially at an enthusiast level. Not to mention, a fully built supercharged FR-S in world challenge. Scion provides race vehicles in many motorsports series, rally, FD, drag racing, AND road racing; I get what you're saying but I just wanted to shed some light from my perspective.

We will be using Seibon parts, yes. Believe it or not, the OEM fenders and hood are not that heavy. Cost vs reward is of a ratio that doesn't add up for this build

The fenders may be modified, we are just facing concerns with what exactly can be modified because we are the first FR-S in the series and it is the touring car class. After our first race, when the car is homologated, we can determine what else we can change for improvements

A lot of physical/cardio training, which is part of my daily routine anyway. And doing a lot of researching for enduro strategies. Luckily, it won't be too warm out, because I don't have a cool suit, but that is all part of the game. Oh, and eat my wheaties of course! lol

Best of luck to you. I just wish Scion or Subaru would put a FR-S/BRZ team into the Continental Tire Sports Car series in the ST class. The car is a natural there and has been legal for two years already but still no entrants. Why they put Stout in the Pirelli Series GTS class to battle Mustangs and Camaros is beyond me. The car should be racing against MX5, I and 3 Series BMW, Civic SI, Genesis. Altima Coupe, VW GTI, Mazda 3, etc. That is the CTSC ST class.

When I first saw your post I got all excited that Scion had finally seen the light and was entering you in that series. Oh well, make us proud anyway.

There are no entrants because people haven't been able to make the power necessary to be competitive without making it a time bomb, so far.

Red or white. How much steel did you use for the cage?

Bead-blasted black. Or just black. Good contrast with the red.
