My friend still has one that was never maintained outside of occasional oil changes. I was shocked that it was still running well for how many miles of neglect it had.

Yeah, I took it to an inspection station and all the techs came over and looked at it in awe like they've never seen a CRV(they're all over the place) they were puzzled at how mine has no rust and doesn't seem to have issues. Which was great! I didn't understand at the time but when I asked they pointed me to another CRV they had as one of their older tech was driving it, stupid thing was rusted all over but it ran just fine. I'm guessing these things are just about as good as old Toyota trucks. Although those 80 hilux are stuff of legends.
