Spoken like someone who has no idea how the AT works in our car.
Seems to be the norm here. Even worse when the noob MT guys chime in with their 2 cents then post about how they have difficulties driving their MT.
Other than that it is just a preference, MT or AT doesn't matter in this car as demonstrated by the amount of seasoned MT guys opting for the AT on their 86.

With the laundry list of problems with the manual transmission including the syncros going to hell in no time if I could do it all over again I would have bought an AT.

Sincerely,
guy going in next week for a new MT transmission.

If you can't drink coffee while driving a manual, you're just not very good at driving a manual. I've eaten three entire meals while driving in my car during the past week.

I have not had any problems with mine. Therefore, using the same logic you used, all of them must be reliable.

Before accepting that there's anything inherently wrong with manual transmission in this car, I would need to see statistics showing the actual incidence of this "laundry list of problems" compared with the number of the cars on the road. Then I would need to see statistics on whether those problems are actual quality control problems or are caused by people who have no clue how to drive a manual and are tearing up the cars themselves. Anecdotal evidence posted on a message board is unreliable, because people like me who have had no problems with their transmissions are not running to the message board to post threads titled, "Help! No problems with my transmission!"

I've owned 5 manuals so far and never had a single issue. Can't say the same for the 2 autos I've owned.

I do a little drift and some donuts as I leave work if the ground is wet....Just because I can...
I have a house in the mountains of N.C.... Very close to The Dragon's Tail....
The other day I drove around for eight hours.....just because.

Yes....I bought the right car!
