Had my blood drawn for cholesterol check this morning. Learned that it's just as bad to fast for too long. WTF?

All last night while I was reading about how the latest science shows that fasting is unnecessary, I could have been snacking? Goddammit.

I've been getting blood work done every three months since 1986. Each year they check for more stuff. I'm up to giving six vials for the past five years at least. My doctors first said I had to fast for 12 hours. Then they said I didn't need to at all. Now I'm told by the lab that I should fast for at least 10 hours but 12 - 14 is better. I try not to eat or drink after 8:00 p.m. and I get my blood drawn between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. the next morning.
Getting old sucks but, having life long health issues really SUCKS!

Ya, that LDL cholesterol thing is a battle for some folks. My vet says just to eat regular before a blood test and if the bad cholesterol is too high, he just gives me a bigger cholesterol pill -

Heads up, older folks, the next thing that they will hit you over the head with is high blood sugar (borderline diabetes). My vet wants me to not put sugar in my coffee and not eat bread and not eat ice cream ….. OR, he will have to give me high blood sugar pills. Yep, I now take two a day -

I don't know what I was thinking yesterday. Oh well. I'll get it right the next time if the results come back all jacked.

Fast or no fast I bet the results won't be much different. At least that's the way it is with mine.

Last time my overall was lower than my doc's but the ratio was a little off. He said in my case, even with diet and exercise it wouldn't change much. I was way fatter then than I am now.

I hypothesize that people who need their throw out bearings replaced are people who idle with the clutch pedal pushed in, and people who don't are people who release the clutch at stops.

Just found out the rental property I bought with my parents in 08' has a big issue. The property line runs 6ft under the west end of the house. It has been bought and sold through land sales contract this way for over 40 years. Curious to see how this pans out.

Or some got the one style and some the others. There were two different ones shown in the picture right from the start. It has nothing to do with how you drive the car.

Reminds me of one time I went and did labs the morning after poker night with the guys. I was still hungover, and everything came back way out of wack. My doctor calls me in a panic with about 10 different treatment options. I told her, let's do the tests again at the end of the week. I was a good boy all week; no smoking or drinking, etc. Did the tests again and everything perfect.
