They definitely know by now, especially if you have a pre-order as well and what dealership would you be referring too?

The dealership is Cityside Subaru in Belmont, MA. I'll see what I can find out.

How far are you down the list? Quirk mentioned "7 in a 7 month span" and I'm first on the list, supposedly. Would you like [to have] my spot?

I'm not sure where I am in the list but the person I spoke with said they have 6 orders so far, and if they're getting 35 cars over 7 months, that would mean ~5 cars a month.

Thanks for the offer, but I think the car I ordered will arrive in the first month or two depending on the dealer allocations. I just wanted a better idea of when the car would be arriving, I'm not looking to jump ship to another dealership (unless expected delivery was in December or something). Thanks again!

Subaru has the destination charge adjusted based on zip code when you build the car on the website, so I'm assuming that means they have. $785 destination charge.

I think Quirk is lying again. They told me I'm first on the list when I pre-ordered back in March 3rd...

Would you happen to have an email or something stating that? I'm not doubting you or anything (in fact I'm sure they're lying). It's so we can get our ducks in line in the event that we'll need to bring it up. At this point I'm leaning very strongly towards getting my deposit back and waiting it out.

I think it'll be worth waiting the 2 or so weeks until the dealerships learn their allotment of cars and can give you a better time frame of when you'll receive the car. If they say you're 1st but your car won't arrive until August then it'll be time to worry. Although it's definitely suspicious for the dealership to tell multiple people that they're 1st in line. I don't even know what position I am in at my dealership but I'm waiting until they learn more specifics about the car delivery before I get worried.

well, I do have the vehicle purchase contract with them for the car... but nothing in writing about my 1st in line except verbally... so there you go... I think they are just BS'ing with both of us!

Yeah, good thing is the deposit is refundable, I can cancel anytime also. There are plenty of Subaru dealerships around Boston (NH and RI included), I plan on balking on the order if they don't deliver on time or not at a good price point (read: msrp or lower).

You and me both. Competition is good but this allocation business isn't working in our favor...but time is. I'm in absolutely no rush to give them anymore money on top of their profits on msrp and doc fee.
