The twins (high spec GT86 and BRZ Limited) have many of the things you'd find a luxury car, but not executed to the level of a luxury car. What do you want at $30K OTD? In any case, it's kind of obnoxious that you can't really find many good sports cars that aren't also luxury cars or executive/businessman cars. The BRZ does well in regard; BMW...well, they're not so sporty outside of their muscle cars (///M) and their muscle cars are quite luxurious as well. Thankfully, those who pine after and enjoy Euro cars can easily afford them after a few years of depreciation.
Took the words out of my mouth!

They've always been known to be spartan, but lately they've just gone plain bland and BMW's interiors don't do a thing for me anymore other than their nice and exude quality/craftmanship. Now the RS5 I recently sat it, just had it. Can't describe it, but if you sat it one and it didn't do anything for you you might need a kick in the nuts. IMHO, Audi has just got it right when it comes to nice quality interiors and lately their exteriors too.

I'm in the 35% then. Admittedly, I would have taken a 1-series M if I could have, but they were such limited edition cars that by the time I went to buy, they were sold out. I'm not taking any of those as sloppy seconds, especially not at prices above MSRP that used copies were and probably still are going for.

I think one day I will have a 1-series M or 135i in the stable. That'll be fun.

Just reinforces how disappointing it is that BMW would opt not to put a manual in the M4. I understand dual-clutch gearboxes are faster, but cars are being evaluated by numbers and laptimes when what should matter more is how fun they are to drive. So thankful for the Twins.
It takes serious effort to drive a manual well at the track. I look forward to it. A poorly driven manual makes for a slow car.

I thought everyone already knew the MT was a dying art. Dual clutch gearboxes are the future. Learn to love it or keep driving old school.

Yeah definitely. I saw first-hand just how much the manual gearbox was slowing down others. It's too bad manufacturers value faster laptimes over real driver involvement these days. At least give me the option to be slower with my manual transmission

I can understand BMW changing to DCT with this, they have a nice system. But the day the Miata becomes Auto only, that's the day driving itself had died.

Mazda is keeping the manual alive, one SUV/van at a time...who knows how long that will go on for.

Self-driven cars have progressed by leaps and bounds in the past few years. It's only a matter of time before the automotive equivalent of "Deep Blue" is created. I'll still get the most enjoyment from driving myself sloppily around with my antiquated manual transmission, slow as it might be. Faster doesn't always equal more fun...

I'm probably the only person on this forum that wants this! I prefer a DCT any day over a manual transmission.

Well, let's hope the engine has something extra spicy like electric boosted turbos to pay some respect to the epic s65.

Lol yea right. I was a ford hater until the 5.0 came out. Ford is really stepping up their game. Can't wait to see what the next gen looks like and hopefully they dont skimp on the weight shaving like chevy did with their vette. A 3200 lbs mustang with a v8 could tempt me to the darkside lol
