Went to one of em & they didn’t have it due to recent high demands. Only one they had was P365XL… which is almost same, just barrel length difference (iirc?)

Yeah, S&W Shield is another option. iirc they have Shield, Shield Plus, & Shield EZ? So much cc options…

Funny you say that about options. Here we are talking about the Shield and 365 but the Canik MC9 was number one on my list with the Sprinfield Hellcat right behind it.

Owned a Hellcat and P365X. I preferred the Sig as the X has a slightly longer grip that was just a lot more comfortable (the Hellcat had a pressure point that my palm disagreed with and made it feel like a much more violent gun to shoot). Hellcat has better stippling and the extended 15rd magazine doesn't look stupid like the Sig's does. I liked that the Hellcat had a paddle safety in the trigger and the P365 would be perfect with one. They're effective and people who whine about them are babies. The Hellcat sight is nice but the Sig is better in low light.

Shot the 43x. Hate it (Glock has a more aggressive grip angle I dislike strongly). Better trigger safety than the Hellcat. More expensive by far when you factor in getting a sight that isn't a standard Glock piece of shit.

Every one of the 3 is a fantastic choice and picking anything else would be suspect or due to local regulations. The best budget option is Taurus G3C. I wouldn't trust anything else this form-factor or smaller for a defense carry. Although I haven't been looking at what has come out new in the last year or so.

Though I generally don't like Glock's much due to their grip angle, the G42 is an exception. Fits very well in my hand and actually shoot it just as well as full size pistols... it's my choice for compact pistol and as small as would go. My full size pistols of choice are the Sig P320 X-Ten and the PSA 5.7 Rock.

I didn't know this thread existed. I need to get back into shooting more. I use my membership at the local club only 3-4 times a year and I used to go twice a month before I got hardcore into autocross/racing.

Today's task is packing up an actual range bag so it gets me out of the house easier. This is going to be my revitalized fall/winter hobby.

There was a deal or mis-listing for Agulia 9mm on Optics Planet yesterday. $190/case, free shipping. My dumbass had two cases sitting in the cart until the price skyrocketed to $320/case

I have weird shaped hands so most double stacked CC or not feel like a compromise to me. The Glock is the most uncompromised feeling to me If they have interchangeable backstraps I always have to run the smallest one or just go single stack and live with 7 rounds

I've been on a palmetto state armory kick for ammo. They bought AAC ammo and have been cranking out 9mm 1k rd cases for right at the 250 mark (115gr, 124gr, and even 147gr). Shipping is obnoxious ($25) but total to my house is still lower than everywhere local.

The best carry is what you're comfortable shooting because it means you'll actually practice. Use what works for your body's mechanics.

Ammo price alert. PSA has 9mm 124gr JHP for .50/rd. I'm gonna try it out tonight and see how it runs.

One of the guns I inherited from my father was an Inglis Browning 9mm Hi Power. When he took possession of it in the 1950’s the gun came with several thousand rounds of WWII ammo. Dozens of flat white boxes filled with each bullet standing at attention. This was at a time when it was illegal to own one as it was still the main side arm used by the Canadian military, (still is for many of our troops). The firing pin had been removed and the split washer that held it in place was lost. I never fired any of the guns so there was no reason for me to get one. During a particularly nasty part of the mid 90’s when the Canadian Liberal Party was pushing for crazy, harsh new gun laws I sold everything. I sold the Inglis for a fair price and then gave the guy all the ammo.
I kick myself now as that would have brought a nice amount on today’s market even if it would be close to 80 years old now. But not near as much as the factory engraved, fully optioned Winchester model 03 that would be worth around $30k USD today. (That’s more than I got for my ¼ of the collection.) Oh well, live and learn.

I agree to a point. A lot of things can be made more comfortable through practice. I already have to do this a lot being a lefty. It's a little harder with compact pistols but I can at least make it feel familiar.

Running reloads on an AR was always kinda awkward to me though until I went to a magpul BAD lever. Made it feel less like a 3 handed affair.

I absolutely love my bad lever and extended latch charge handle. Together, it makes manipulation so much easier for everything bolt related.

I've had this for about 15 years at my fishing cabin as a wall hanger. It's a Marlin 28. To my best research, serial number puts date of manufacture around 1913-1914. It was my wife's grandpa's.

The CZ457 Varmint build continues to evolve...

As it stands now:
MDT LSS Chassis with Composite carbine stock, Premier vertical grip, adjustable butt pad, and elite cheek riser.
MDT GRND Bipod on ARCA rail
Tract Toric UHD 4-25x50 on MDT 20MOA rail
0.005 bolt shim
Timney Trigger

And recently I "cloned" an adjustable bag rider. A couple of hours in fusion 360, about $20 in hardware, and about 6 iterations of 3d printing to get the fit just right and I have one that works quite well. Working on a version for my Howa 1500 as well because I'm liking it so much.

I recently won my first club match at 100m. Pleasantly surprised by that! Will also be participating in the 200m next time around, and thinking about BR50 as well.

Shot my first sub 0.5" 10rd group at 100y the other day. Very very pleased!
