Regular is a full participant entry, lapping is just open lapping.

At a school event (DDT or MIR), participants receive instruction while lappers are just getting lapping. Lapping on school event days is one session per hour (typically 20 minutes) all day.

At a competition event, participants have morning lapping plus afternoon competition sessions (1 warm up lap, 3 hot laps to set a fast time and 1 cool down lap), lappers only get the morning sessions (again typically one 20 minute session per hour).

Wish the ATTS days could be sooner. How do OTA School days compare to ones from SPDA? Are they divided by skill levels? Initial part covers in class theory while the rest is track time? Thanks

The OTA schools are broken out by experience, but have in class time mixed in throughout the day. You'll definitely learn more at the OTA schools. They're also geared to preparing you to enter their series safely while the SPDA days are more about just getting you out on the track to have fun lapping.

Thanks for this wparsons. I haven't been a Solo 1 competitor for almost 20 years... but remember this being a great crowd of people and a ton of fun. I don't have the time to compete in 2016, but hope to join in for lapping one or more days.

So if I want to 'just' do lapping on June 25th (and don't want to participate in the 'school') I'd pay $250, right? Do the organisers need to know, or do I somehow have to prove, my experience level for lapping only?

Thanks!

Hopefully you can make it out!

Lapping needs a quick checkout ride with an instructor if no one recognizes you, but as long as you're safe, predictable and understand flags you'll be fine! They'll probably only need a few laps, but will also likely give you a full session of tips if you want.

I wept when I was told that I need a roll bar for my S2k ...

I've marked all the ATTS events though. Going for that one.

Is there an official time record for DDT? I'd like to see how close I can get to it this year. I ran a 1:46.5xx last year and didn't feel like I got into a groove... tried to sign up for all the schools I can this year to get to that next level. Still sticking with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports (will be doing a massive road trip later on this year - need good tread life!) and stock OEM alignment.

Will I get to chase you around the track @wparsons? Always fun to have a chase or be chased

Say... silly question, but how does one pay the entry fee for the June 25th lapping event? I've signed up using MotorsportReg, but it wouldn't take payment... happy to go for free (!!), but assume someone wants some money somewhere and I don't want to turn up and find out I'm not actually registered!

Sorry, forgot to confirm in a PM... you don't *need* a rollbar, but you'll have to run at a slower pace and they need an instructor that doesn't mind being in a convertible without a bar. TL;DR; - I'd wait for a bar so you can run faster.

I'm not sure if I'll be there instructing or not, it'll depend on registrations and if I can get away for the day.

You can pay CC or cash on the day of, or you can pay in advance. If you want to pay in advance email the treasurer ( treasurer AT time-attack DOT ca ) to sort it out.

First school is coming up and there are still a couple spots left. If you're looking at getting into time attack, or even lapping in general, this is a great school.

Sorry, missed this before... all the event lap times are posted after each event. Your car would likely be GT3, or possibly into GT2 (can't remember what you've modified on it).

Event 1: http://www.casc.on.ca/sites/default/..._1_results.pdf

Event 2: http://www.casc.on.ca/sites/default/..._2_results.pdf

Event 1 was with both kinks, event 2 was without the kink on the back straight.

w00t! I'm not dead last!

I have zero mods on the car as of right now. So I should be GT3 class.
