I completely agree; there is some serious premature wear on the leather portion. I have a mere 8000 miles on my car and I noticed that the bolster is very worn. To put this in perspective my 2005 Acura with 90k miles looked better than this!

When you get into the car, do you sit a bit forward on the seat bottom then swivel yourself into the seat, trying to avoid the bolster, or do you smoosh the side bolster as you slide in from the side?

If you smoosh the bolster every time you get in (or out) you're going to get wrinkles.

The cloth bolster in my FR-S shows wear lines where the PO rubbed against it when he got in and out.

Get seat covers. Clazzio has some great covers. So far mine is protecting my seat and looks to be holding up pretty well.

It's easier to replace a seat cover than reupholster your seats anyway

A wrinkle in leather isn't wear... It can be removed with steam and conditioner.

I was seriously anal about my pristine 91MR2 turbo (OEM leather)

When exiting, I would slide the seat all the way to the back, and move the steering wheel to the full-up position, then slide forward so I could avoid sliding over the bolster/seat edge.

Even after 12 years and 60K, there was no noticeable wear on the bolster.

Do you have any pics of your Clazzio seats? I studying leather options, and am looking at Clazzio, as well as a couple of others. Interested in pics and feedback.

I'll post some pics by tomorrow. Only did the front seats just too lazy to do the rears. Particularly since no one sits in them. I got them to reduce the wear on my bucket seats.

The manual actually tells you to put your seat all the way back before getting in and out, or else the side bolsters will experience extra wear. It is actually really specific on that.

So no, it probably wont be covered by warranty unless your dealer is super nice.

You mean I wasn't just being anal with my MR2, I was really doing it right?

When the seats wear worse, just get it leather wrapped. Will be easier than fighting the dealer.
