How to save more FM stations?

There are only 6 preset stations, but I have 11 favorite ones. How to deal with this? Also the touch screen is pretty hard to operate while I am driving. Any tips? Really miss those good old buttons. Sigh.

Which head unit do you have?

In most 90% cases there is FM1, FM2, and FM3. Each have 6 memory slots. So a total of 18 presets.

This is usually found when you switch from am/fm.

Or you could have read your owners manual.
Sigh right back at you.

that's pathetic. Have you never used a touch screen radio before? I found it out by mistake in the second week of ownership.

Touch screen is very hard for me. The buttons are small. Hard to hit them while driving. I have to use a finger or two to touch the frame of the head unit to stabilize, then I can touch the buttons precisely. I am surprised that others prefer touchscreens. I really want to have the buttons back.

That's why I am still very unfamiliar with the head unit after 6 years.

i won't buy a car i can't drive for a week without the radio installed(most won't start in the morning after because most the lack of a radio keeps certain computers draining the battery)

There is no way to save FM radio. Clear Channel damaged it beyond repair. Now streaming will replace it, and the bandwidth will be reallocated to other technologies.

On a serious note, I now listen to everything (including local FM stations, SiriusXM and Amazon's streaming service) through Alexa. I bought the Echo Auto and just use voice control. There are no presets to save, since I just say what I want to hear.

easy to say if you've got no problem paying to stream stuff.

i listen to fm every day at work, because i have a 3gb data plan, and fm is free to get anywhere.

Meh. I don't really think about it. I have a 6GB data plan and rarely use anywhere near that. I do pay for Amazon streaming music, and streaming is included in my SiriusXM subscription for no additional cost. The I H8 Radio app for Clear Channel stations is "free." There are other "free" apps as well.

But more importantly, even if you do have a problem paying for any of that, data streaming will become cheaper and cheaper as bandwidth increases and streaming replaces terrestrial radio. Eventually FM will get squeezed down into a small band around 88 to 90 MHz for emergency broadcast, and more two-way digital bandwidth will replace it. While streaming may not ever be "free," it will become universally affordable.
