Pa inspection and Catless Header

I was going to buy Open Flash Header, but im worried I will fail my yearly inspections

I live in PA by Pittsburgh
Anyone from the area have any advice?
PA does OBD sensors ...
What will I have to do to pass?

Also is Catless that much more power than catted.. Im using OFT also

Catless vs catted on a na car will make zero difference. Problem is finding a quality catted header. What type of emissions testing do they do? Sniffer or visual?

For future reference in this thread (because I found it on google) In PA they require a Visual Inspection, Gas Cap check and OBD-II check, a tune will trick the OBD-II check and the gas cap check would pass anyway. As for visual inspection check here if your county requires it: http://www.drivecleanpa.state.pa.us/

In my case the car is so new a visual inspection is not required but most likely will be done anyway. Leaving the secondary cat and not taking it to a Toyota or Subaru dealer but rather another mechanic could bypass that.

As long as your OFT prevents the CEL, you're good to go provided that you do NOT take your car to the dealership for inspection. They're immensely more likely to actually check for the cat in the header. I usually just got to a psuedo performance shop that has an inspection license.

I sometimes think that in ideal world for all parties to be happy there simply should be some reasonable extra tax for such mods/to legalize them. Even with just one cat left, exhaust is cleaner then for some cars of not that distant past. If car will dump slightly dirtier exhaust gases vs stock that has specific taxes depending on what exhaust standards it was certified to fullfill, owner simply should pay a bit more .. but be legal without any need to fool dealership/cops/inspections. But as of now, enthusiasts will keep moding, State will keep fighting that. Given my lack of trust in common sense of humanity or polititians, it will stay this way .. maybe even will get worse for us in future :/. "Green" is powerful populistic way to easily gain votes, just like "fight" against alcohol/smokers. Hence it WILL be used, no matter how much sense in some cases pursuing it makes or not and if other areas of impacting environment are even more of polluters then car is.

This is important as well, but most dealership techs are too lazy to go an open up that panel I feel. In bucks county where I live at least only an OBD-II check and Gas Cap check are required....
