Got a reply from Nameless today, they confirmed that they will be replacing the old style can with the new ball type helmholtz when it gets back there for repairs

Did you read the last couple posts?

Theyre not replacing the ball helmholtz, theyre replacing the can style. The ball is the new, better design that apparently gets rid of the VVT rasp

Is this a custom order pipe? I cant seem to find this configuration on Nameless's site. The description for their 3" downpipe says it uses a donut to connect to a 3" midpipe.

Yes, it was a custom order. The last couple of inches tapers down for 3" to a 2.5" flange which uses your standard 2 bolt gasket.

Heres a vid with my old setup which had the rasp. Its a little hard to hear from the outside, it was more noticeable in the cabin.

Heres the current setup with absolutely no rasp.

What exactly did you ask them for? That sounds great! I'm so tired of the rasp. And that was a fast course! Good driving

I asked them to put a 2.5" flange on their 3" over/front pipe with a taper of some sort. I also asked that they not put that little pipe extension for the stock donut gasket as that brings the ID down to 2.25". I am running a Perrin cat-back which has a flex joint that takes care of articulation so keep that in mind.

This sounds amazing. Haven't started modding the exhaust on my FR-S yet, but doing lots of research. Care to share the exact details on your exhaust setup?
