Good idea.

Mine came with only one bolt and was missing the little square brackets. I have fairly suitable equivalents, but instead I'll try the zip-tie approach.

you sir, are a smart man. The only reason that prevented me from installing one of these in the first place was that i didn't want to drill any holes, but now you gave me the reason to proceed. I'll buy you a beer.

Great idea.. I just ordered two of the hooks on ebay and was thinking about how I was going to attach them without drilling.. was thinking double sided tape but I know that's not going to work. When all else fails, zip-ties!! Thanks!

If you don't want your groceries to spill, you could also tie the handles of the bag together.

I got this from my GF for christmas and it is awesome:

http://www.sierratradingpost.com/mou...colorFamily=70

You can load the smaller bags up with groceries, or the big over-bag can be loaded directly and carried. It'll turn 100 bucks of groceries into a single trip up the stairs! Also fits just right in the trunk, and doesn't seem to slide around at all. I used it the other day for a picnic at the end of a wonderful mountain road. No sweat, and nothing spilled.

Get one - you'll thank me later

Instead of drilling holes through the boot, i just slid a bar of metal in behind the existing hole gaps, lined it up, predrilled it and then secured onto that. As you tighten the tow hook and metal bar they secure against the car body.

Hi Mate, I'm trying to do it this way, are you able to take some pictures of your Hook. I'm trying to work out which holes are easiest to slide the metal bar through & did you create the thread for screw in the hole on metal piece itself or is there enough room for finger to get in to hold a nut in place? Cheers.

As usual i didn't have the foresight to take a photo while i was doing it.

It's a pretty simple process, but the metal bar needs to be fairly thin, it took alot of prying and twisting to get it through the gap because there's not much clearance behind the holes.

Last pic is the bar i used to cut the piece, it was just lying around. The metal is 3mm thick, and 25mm wide. The length i don't remember, i just made it flush with the little metal things provided to screw into. By which i mean the two little pieces in this pic, it fits over an edge and has a thread for the screwd to tighten onto, obviously needs to be predrilled. If you don't have this piece then yes you'll need to do some finger gymnastics to balance the nut through the gaps

Here's snapshots of the inside of the boot.

Thank you very much. This makes it all very clear now. Cheers.
