JDL Auto Design UEL Header - catless
JDL Auto Design Over Pipe - catted
ARK Performance Test Pipe
ARK Performance DT-S Catback

Hopefully I've got this right now, thanks.
Per the list from @kch:

JDL catless UEL
JDL 2.5" OP (These can't have cats in them)
JDL 2.5" catted/resonated FP (this is where the cat goes. The Ark option doesn't have a cat, so you would probably prefer the JDL. They call this their super quiet frontpipe)
and a perrin 2.5" resonated catback (or Ark catback, if that's what you want)

So I'm now under the impression the only way to avoid exhaust fumes from seeping through the cabin floor is then to get the cattedUEL, but will I then lose the subit grumble ?

No smells seep through the cabin floor unless you have a massive exhaust leak. I smell it sometimes in traffic with the windows down and friends have told me my car reeks too. FWIW my car sounds amazing, IMO... JDL catless UEL, OP, ultra quiet FP, and Perrin 2.5" resonated catback.

Unfortunately if I'm driving at low load/speed next to things (like a wall or berm or something) I can hear a pretty annoying wooshy/fluttery sound. Absolutely no leaks, so it's just "normal" for catless headers, I guess. I've been tempted to do some inconel heat shields to see if I can kill the noise as it annoys the hell out of me.

Thanks for the info. I hope the ARK DT-S sounds just as amazing! I have decided to go with:

JDL catless UEL
JDL 2.5" or 3" overpipe
JDL 2.5" or 3" catted/resonated frontpipe
ARK DT-S

Would there be any benefit to going with a 3" overpipe and frontpipe? Did you just go with the 2.5"?

Anyone running 3" overpipe/frontpipe with the ARK exhaust? I might have to look at going with a Perrin 3"

With a turbo, yes. Otherwise, I don't think so.

That's what I thought, but I am running the Sprintex 335 so it's a different story. What size tips on the JDL exhaust? I didn't like the look until I saw there are different tip options.

oooooh, nice. That's beyond my knowledge. Ask your tuner if they think the 335 needs a 3" exhaust.

Tuner said 3" exhaust isn't necessary. It will just be louder and heavier.

I found this post helpful http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=36593&page=2

3" exhaust is absolutely unnecessary unless you add a big turbo and plan to make more than 400whp..In other words, even with FI 2.5" should be more than enough for majority of the people..I would definitely ask for evidence (before and after dyno data) otherwise it's just another internet talk

This has been debated for years and some people claim too large of an exhaust (for SC not for a turbo application of course) even hurts the low end torque.

Since the Rotrex kits in general makes a lot more power up top and lacks some low end power -as opposed to positive displacement SC s- I always thought it would be more beneficial to keep the low end TQ in expense to lose some top end (after 7200 rpm !!) and of course if it makes any difference
Looks like I will be going back to my original plan of a 2.5" setup:

JDL catless UEL (for more low end power and subie rumble)
JDL 2.5" overpipe
JDL 2.5" catted/resonated frontpipe
2.5" ARK DT-S exhaust or 2.5" JDL D2 exhaust

Now I just need to decide between the ARK and JDL catbacks.
