How long did it take from deposit to delivery?

Keep in mind, the early pre-orders didn't get their order put in with Subaru till March 1st when they were first being accepted. Don't know if Scion was the same.

The term "order" is misleading. Dealers can't order FR-S's. They are allocated a pre-determined amount of FR-S's depending on their productivity. They are notified in advance what they're going to receive and approximately when they will receive it.

I bought mine from a dealer in a small town here in Arizona just two months ago and mine was only the second FR-S they had ever seen. Obviously being in a small town they didn't move a large number of cars. For me it was just a matter of luck. I started contacting Scion dealers telling them I wanted a firestorm manual and when I called this dealership they told me they had just been informed they would be getting one in two to three weeks. I made an over the phone deposit and picked my car up a few weeks later.

Exactly. That goes right along with what I was trying to convey. That's why 5 months is a more realistic answer as that's how long it might take to "luckily" fill someones very specific choices.

Three days, but our scion does not do preorders. They have a phone list they call, then it's first come first served. When the first called the week after I went in and put my name on list, by the time I got there all the whites were sold. I then went back a week later and saw the Raven in person and that sealed the deal. Put money down, they prepped car, three days later they delivered & I paid the balance.

Deposit put down 10/1 ... still waiting ... heard the car had to be brought to the Baltimore port instead of the NJ ports because of Hurricane Sandy damage. Dealer said it should be delivered in the next couple of weeks...

I first called about the car in October - wanted Argento. The lady at Scion said they didn't mess with deposits. She thought it was silly; if one person didn't want it when it arrived, someone else would buy it.

I waited until early November to check back on their allotments and they were getting no Argentos in the next shipment but they had two White Outs, one manual without Bespoke and I said I'd take it. It arrived within a week and it's been in my garage since then. Apparently, there were no Argentos scheduled for the entire five-state region so I jumped on the White-out (which I always liked, just hate paying extra for a paint color). Fortunately, she gave me dealer cost on the window tint, so it equaled out.

So, less than a month total, though I'd still be waiting had I held out for Argento.

I put my deposit down back in August, got my car about week ago. I too received lack of update during the waiting period, but as soon as they were able to know for sure they gave me a call. It's tough waiting, but unless you want to put a deposit on multiple dealerships then your only option is to wait.
