I was just giving a hypothetical scenario. The other cars I have seen always have a HDD based navi. One can buy updated maps for them. Memory card seems knew to me... is it? If it is removable... it should serve a purpose. Has anyone put a different software on it?

It's so it can be easily updated. Toyota does it too, but they hide the card behind a fake button.
You can also use your own memory card and change the start up screen or watch video (not that I see a reason for video). I wouldn't change the OEM memory card at all. |
